Rude/negative comments? Where? I haven't seen anything rude on this thread yet? Just a lot of facts that support the truth that a stock 5.4 is stronger than a stock 4.6, there's nothing rude about that....

Ha ha! I work for the NYSDOT and one of the jokes around here is "what's yellow and sleeps 6? A state DOT pickup truck!(we have quad cabs)" God, I hate those jokes!
We actually really bust our humps this time of year with all the snowplowing etc.

actually the cam was taped to the dash and laptop strapped into the seat. only time i took my eyes off the road was top of 2nd i glanced to see if image was shaking. but the speed limit on that road was 70mph. and its about cosest road to my house in which i can safely open it up since there was not but a few cars and i was a safe distance away from them. i dont street race. thats just ignorant to put other people in danger.

 

i actually passed one when i was slowing down back down to speed limit after the run. he was heading opposite direction. so i was pretty lucky

I have to give it to our DOT, they have been doing really good here lately. (New governor and he is "evaluating expenses vs progress".)
You rarely see anyone leaning on a shovel now.

In the last year we have gotten 2 of our 3 over passes redone. (not just resurfaced, New gerters, new guards, everything from the ground up!) One they had to because an over sized semi with an intoxicated driver tried to carry it off! ROTFLMAO
70mph hit, there was now repairing that old thing. LOL
The third and the worst one (before the guy tried to steal the other one) is in the plans to be redone in the next 2 years.

Of course it helped that MODOT got ranked with the worst bridges in the nation. Suddenly a bunch of funds appeared...

 

Yeah, I think with the times we are living in now, government (at least on the local and state level) seems to be re-engineering itself and realize that their jobs may be in jeopardy if they don't prove that they work hard and are worth the money that taxpayers pay them. Here in the NYSDOT we just went through what they call "transformation". A lot of things are different that will help us run more efficiently. Less government waste. We will see what happens.....

Yea he walked away, the load he was hauling made it about 1/4 the way thru the bridge before it stopped. He was only about 6"- 8" to tall. But him hitting those 3-4 joist, warped and busted most of the rest of the bridge. I'll look later and see if I can find an old news article somewhere on the web of it.

What are you saying your estimated 1/4 mile times are then. With a 15 sec 0-100mph run? Low 14's?

Most L's will beat you if that is the case. Also, you hsould have showed your speedometer on the run, and then we can estimate your time. Keep in mind, looking at the timer doesnt count. There is up to a 1-1.5 second margin for error when doing that.

Justifying that...my brother used to calculate his 0-60mph with video AND by watching his clock flash the seconds. He always calculated his 0-60mph at 7.25 seconds. Well, we hooked him up to a G-tech and he pulled off an 8.2 with no spin. He always calculated his 1/4 mile based on his 0-60mph time at 15.5 seconds. Went to the track and he ran a 16.1 !!

So, saying you ran a 15 second 0-100mph is inaccurate to say the least.

Get a G-tech and videotape it or a track run.

 

Okay, I read that again. 0-85mph was 15 seconds. Still, it wasnt a 0-100mph run. It was a rolling start run from atleast 15mph.

Anyway, the truck sounds good. I'd still like to see the speedometer taped.

 

actually i turned and put it in 1st it wasnt moving fast enough to read any speed. then i nailed it and shifted as u hear. but yes i should be low 15's but the point of me makin this vid was for fun of it and to see before and after of my tune hopefully it will be ready tomorrow.
