Worth is a perception.
If you buy abercrombie clothes and think they are worth it, then yes Oakley's will be worth it too.

Do they help you see better, fit better, block more UV, or anything.
Not the ones that I have had.

They do have a lifetime warranty, but... only if you do not lose them.

I'm buying another pair of these for my next expensive pair.

They were worth the money, but I lost mine in a porta potty at the county fair 3 years ago and they were not worth diving in after!
I almost got sick as I watched them sink in the sludge.

Edited to add:
The samples on thier site do not do them justice.
Everything is so crisp and clear, little to no squinting, even improves vision on cloudy days!

He's only blind in one eye, so maybe he can get them for 1/2 price!

Are they worth it? Well, no not really, unless you have a need for bling. I have had several pair over the years, currently with M frames and fire lenses. They cost me like $135 and the replacement lenses are $85. I wear knock offs when I do things that may get them scratched, and they work just as well

I bought a pair of M frames about 10 years ago. Paid close to $150 for them. I wore them once on the bike and my eyes would not stop watering so I went back to my $10 Wal-Mart specials. I used them in the truck for a while but the rubber on the bows and nose piece got soft and mushy, and finally turned slimy and sticky. They now reside in my toolbox at work for torch glasses. They do have good UV protection but I would never buy another pair.

About this lifetime warranty? How do you get stuff replaced and what all does it cover?

I bought a new pair of oakley x-metal back in the summer. Lost them on the second day I had them :o ...400 bucks gone.

I like the sunglasses that american eagle has. They are cheap, look decent, and get the job done.

I own....2 pairs of half jackets (Array- w/ three replacement leans)
1 pair of M frames, also the arrays.

Dont buy them from the sunglass places, try getting them through Ebay or the like. There is about a 90% mark up through the stores.
(Hint- do a search for "Military" or "Police" when searching for the sunglasses) They are ANSI certified, which means the lens's are shatterproof and are ballistic hardened lens's. Also, the "O's" on the frames are "subdued", and the frams themselves are non gloss black. All (most)of the military wear them overseas.

I've owned mine for three years, had one set of lens's replaced for free. I would not own anything else. I figure my eyesight is worth $90 bucks.

In the past 6 years I've owned two sets of A wires. I love them! The first set I wore for 5 years straight (still have them. Keep them in the fiances car). The second set she got me, and they are polarized. I never knew how well they could actually work. They remove the glare of your dash reflection from the windshield, they let me see into other cars on the road where normally glare is all you can see. Very durable, light and comfortable.

I cannot drive without sunglasses, even on most cloudy days. I end up squinting so bad, but with the Oakleys... never a problem. To me, yes, they're worth the money.

I'm sure there are other good brands out there too though...

Want my 2 cents? That's too bad, gonna get it anyway.

Stop by the nearest gas station and see if they have any cheap ones. If you buy a pair of those, you'll never be able to get rid of them.

Buy a pair of expensive glasses (Nike, Oakley, Ray-ban, etc), and you'll loose them in no time, no time at all.

HAHA that's me!

I've lost every pair of expensive sunglasses I have ever owned with in 6 months.
Currently wearing a pair of Tommy Hilfiger, Relic series, Bought at TH Outlet store for $13. They shade some but not exceptionally well, I wear them driving, in the boat, mowing, weedeating, everything. They are scratched but barely see the scratches when I wear them. Had them for 3 years now, I don't want to buy any more til I have to, but these just wont go away so that I can.

Maui Jim's are pretty much identical to Revos... for a lot less.

I've had my Jim's for 7 or 8 years and absolutely love them.

As far as losing them... if you treat them like $300 glasses, you probably weouldnt lose them. Do you guys lose your car keys too? Are you as forgetful at changing your oil? Forget to wipe your asses at all? Sorry, no excuse forlosing $300 glasses and no reason at all that they be lost or stepped on.

No I don't lose my keys very often, I ussually just leave them in the ignition so I know exactly where they are.

I did lose my $300 cell phone when it got bounced out of the boat in rough water and sank to the bottom of the lake 3 months after I had got the new phone this year. LOL

If I buy it, then I am going to use it.

I could have not taken it with us on the water, but if we break down it sure dosen't do a lot of good sitting in the truck! (of course it didn't do much good at the bottum of the lake either... But I had it in the cubby with my wallet, my truck keys, and my ciggerettes. "You know I'm going to keep those cigs safe!" It was just a fluke that the cell got knocked out.)

If you can't afford to use something after you have bought it, then you should have bought something cheaper that you actually could afford. IMO

Edited to add:
This older phone I am using was much cheaper, it was only $150 with contract and is now 1.5 years old. It has been ran over in the drive way, dropped/lost in the mud while out 4 wheeling, dropped in a boat yard and almost ran over by a tractor. Yet I have always managed ot find it and it still works.
My luck if it had been one I was even remotely worried about. It would have gotten shattered when it was ran over, never worked when pulled out of the mud, never found when it fell off my side in the boat yard or if I did find it the tractor would have ran over it in the boat yard.

well, as long as your smokes didn't get wet. That's the most important thing.
