I love how people talk about dealerships like capitalism is a bad thing. lol

They aren't in business to give you a vehicle. They are doing it to make money

I would call it more of a marketing "tool". Being the cynical ***** that I am I have checked most of the stuff in that video with competitive makes on our lot. Everything you see in that video is true, the frames, the tow hooks, the inner front structure etc. I give kudo's to Ford for putting it all in a video...customers are facinated with it.

I agree that everything that the say about the Ford and to some extent the competitors is true.....but it is still a "tool" made by Ford, distributed by Ford and touts Ford Trucks.....so....you have to concede that even though it is explaining the advantage of the Ford product.....is will not always show the advantage of the competing product.....

...Don't get me wrong....that DVD had ALOT to do with my decision to purchase my F150....but I have always held value in the independant un-biased review of products, issues, etc.....a value which is NOT a part of that DVD....

I agree Bill that the video might carry even more weight if it were done by an independent lab or something. I do think however that Ford did a nice job of not falsifying anything in it. They did concentrate on parts of the vehicles that Ford had a clear advantage in but if you really think about it, these trucks do have the advantage in most areas. Probably the one thing they left out is overall power or drivability but what the hell, its their video!

True.....I showed that DVD to my buddy that just bought a CrewCab Dodge Hemi.....lets just say that he does not rag on Fords as much anymore...only argument that he has is that he has more power....unfortunately all he has is that nice Hemi engine wrappe up in some tin-foil that D/C considers a truck...

...funny story....I was explaining to him about the "door construction" portion of the DVD....the part where they push on the fully open door to determine "give"......I did that to my Truck....no give.....did it to his truck with the same force.....his door gave significantly and now does not seal correctly anymore...causing a "whistle" when in motion.....
