In this day and age of predominently automatics, maybe everyone drives using left foot brake, right foot gas.... Hmmmm?
I assumed that most of the readers here know how to side step thier gas.

If they dont.... That's scary!

If you are in a vehicle and hit a parked vehicle, it is 100% drivers fault. It is 100% drivers error unless the brakes happen to fail. Then it can be attributed to mechanical faliure.

I grew up driving old tractors or deuce and a 1/2 ton trucks in fields and thru the woods. Side stepping the brake and double clutching was mandatory.

What did you do while driving a truck with a 4th pedal (ignition pedal) and starting it then taking off all while on a hill?
Most of the time our farm trucks Park brakes did not work. You had 3 pedals to work and 2 feet to do it with.

Ha my army jeep has clutch, brake, gas, and starter pedal in the floor. Parking brake does not work to well........kill that sucker out on a hill and you will be doing a two step while sitting.

Haha
Know what you mean, been there a few times. Worst when you have a trailer behind you wanting to pull you down the hill. Our old trucks, once you got them started you had to hold the gas for a while to keep them running too. So you had to move your left foot off the brake and gas, slip your right foot in it's place, with out letting it roll backwards or die. If you didn't give it gas fast enough during the transition then it died. Then you got to start the whole process all over again. If it rolled, even with all 10 tires locked up, you might not beable to stop it, cause the farm trails were not paved. You could slide all the way down the hill, into a tree, or roll it. Or if you have a trailer you likely would jack knife the trailer. I dont imagine that It would be to hard for one to gain 30 mph backwards. I'm sure it would be hard to back a trailer down a trail that fast especially since non of ours were ever straight.

Yes, It's called heel and toe, I raced SCCA for several years, if you couldn't heel ,toe and use the handbrake to turn, you weren't going to get close to winning.
I just don't find a need for that skill with an F-150 auto.

Interesting, I do in mine. Even if it dosent look like an incline, if I just let off the brake then it will roll. (unless I lock it into 1st gear) It's like driving one with a stall converter except it's onlly like a 1200 rpm stall. Smallest stall I've ever seen, very streetable though.

I wont tell. I think you and my wife went to the same school.

After 10 years of marriage when she says the sky is green I just agree and move on.

I'll have to try it. Never too old to increase your learning curve.

I hope yours does too, otherwise that means I might have a problem.
No other symptoms, so I assumed they were all like this. :o

hey...I'm me..not sharing or pretending to be any one but my self...the 05 reg cab f-250 I tried to test drive was fried...at twent km..period..I will not bore any one with the trials and tribulations of my reasoning for getting the 04 F-150...I'm going to try for a 1/2 ton dodge ram, with a 6sp manual, 4.7 or hemi ( 3/4 ton ) and 4wd reg cab 8 ft box, only because dodge offers a manual trans, reg cab are bigger than the Ford.
I did try out a 06 F-150 ext cab, and thier is a lot more leg room than a reg cab f-150 but getting one in a 8ft box will have to be a factery order, and they do not have a manual trans...
As I have stated, I owned a 97 reg cab Ford that had lot's of leg room...even the boss's 05 GMC reg cab has more leg room...Even sitting in a 06 reg cab F-150 ( I had thought my 04 might be a qurk ) is two tight..I'm 6ft 4, but this all just boaring ya all...

Just so odd, in a negative way that this 05 F-250 was F..up at twenty KM...Killed my reasoning for wanting a new FORD..I'm sure the dealer will fix her up right, could have been just a simple issue, but none the less, I was not impressed..
Good luck with your rides, boy's and gals...I'm out of the Ford Program.
