It doesn't work so well with 'Used'.

I'd rather have a '97 that's been maintained/babied than an '03 that's been beat all to hell.
The F150 from '97 to '03 is basically the same truck with some small changes each year. A loaded '97 could be a more substantial truck than a stripped '03.
I think there was like 67 variations most model years.
Standard 4 wheel ABS started in '99 along with a little more HP.
Cubby hole in the dash went away and came back.
Interesting...
Any of the older models like 97 or 98 have ABS?
:santa:

97 - 98 have rear ABS standard, Front ABS was optional so it's possible a truck could have it.

Chevy started advertising heavy about their four wheel ABS being standard in 1999 and Ford was feeling the sting.

Ford decided to do a 'mid-year' change and go four whel ABS 'standard'.
It took effect around DEC98-Jan99 (I forget) so about half were standard.
The build range for 1999 was JUL98 - JUL99
and I'm sure some of those before that were ordered with the option so, a large percentage of '99s have four wheel ABS.

My 2000 xlt was a great truck I put a little over 96,000 miles on it in the 6 years I had it no major problems with it excepth the tranny started acting wierd the last week I had it so traded it in for my new 2005 xlt about a month ago. If the tranny didn't act up on it I still would be driving the 2000 instead of this new 05 truck.

I bought a used 99 F-250 LD s/cab 4x4 in 02 and had it for just over 2 years. It had 100 k when I bought it and I put on about 70 k and had nary a problem, just an axle seal and ABS sensor, and a ball joint. I now own a 02 F150 Screw 4x4(family got bigger), but the 99 was an excellent truck with bigger brakes, tranny, rearend. I've never had a spark plug problem with any of them including our V10 work van, and I've changed the plugs in it and the Screw. I have been very impressed with these products, but the van did have a coil on plug problem it took awhile for me to diagnose, but since I fixed it, it's been great, and it's got 125 k on it now.
