One year my local phone book company tranposed the last two digits to the local walmart so instead of 344-6442 they printed 344-6424 Which happened to be MY PHONE NUMBER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After about a week we figured out what was going on and started to have some fun with it. We had caller ID and if we didnt recognize the person calling we'd answer "walmart how can I help you?" We used to offer refunds, hold merchandise, page customers. Tell employees that were calling in late to take their time no big deal. Once i went into the electronics dept for something, I remembered the Name of one of the workers there. Then like a week later some guy called my number looking for NBA 2000 for playstation i think. I asked him to hold, put the phone down for a sec. Then I told him i had one copy left on sale for 19.99 ( Was a $50 Game @ the time ) He said OMG please hold it for me. I said no problem my name is tim and I work in electronics ( Tim was the dude I saw there that day.)
But the 3am phone calls got annoying after a month or so, those people usually got cussed out. So eventually we had to have the phone Co change my number. But it was fun for a while.
