I bet my neighbors hate me...

Because I am a decorating freak. I work it like chevy chase at christmas time.

I have been working on the outside all weekend and still like another full day to get finished.

Here is my newest item. Its a 10 foot tall 8 foot round snow globe that blows snow around inside it all the time.

Got it a K-Mart. $199.99 They only had 4 of them and a bunch of old women were bickering about who was going to get them and I spotted a box in the corner and took it and run like wind to the register.

One question, does the power company have to bring another generation plant online when you get all your decorations up and lighted?

Red, while that snow man is very cool and I love Christmas with a childlike abandon, I am very stringent at my house with the timing. I have been very disappointed over the years with the constant commercialization of the season and how every year Christmas has gotten closer and closer to the 4th of July. It's becoming more and more as if Thanksgiving doesn't exist and from Halloween (even before Halloween this year ) to the big day it's a Christmas free-for-all. At our house there are no decorations, lights or carols until AFTER Thanksgiving. I believe in giving a very important day in our countries history it's due. But really, enjoy your decorations and feel free to put them up whenever you please because that is one of the very best things about our country, you are free to do that sort of thing!

They have those at Wal-Mart.... someone, in their infinite wisdom, punctured the one that they had out on display...

Let's just say that side of the store suffered a seriouis bout with lake effect styrofoam.

It is a bit early isn't it?

If you search hard enough in your area, you will find people who NEVER take their decorations down. They are up year round.
Never could understand that.

I normally hate those blow ups but I really like that one. I go all out but I'm waiting to see how many people buy them...I dont want to be one of 10 on my street.

At the end of last week it was in the low 70’s in Chicago, unheard of this time of year. So there I was on my ladder 25 feet in the air hanging Christmas lights off of the gutters wearing a t-shirt and comfortable. If I waited until after Thanksgiving I would have been up on the ladder in a wind chill of 30 or worse and would have been a very angry man. All I did was put them on the house, I don’t even have them plugged in and will not turn them on until December….My wife hates it, but my decorations are usually gone during the first week of January…..That’s just my 2˘

That's party because more American's are realizing that even though we give thanks to God on Thanksgiving day, that the first Thanksgiving was more about the slaughter and pillaging of the American Indians, and the taking of their food, than it was about reaping the benefits of crops planted, and sharing between the pilgrims and the Indians. That's taken a lot from it, making it seem like the celebration of a lie.
