I got a card in the mail on Saturday from Ford about the Recall.
Seems replacement parts are not going to be available until sometime in Feb '06.
They welcomed me to 'come in anytime' and get disconnected.
How did I see this coming?

How could this happen?
Doesn't Ford even read these Forums?
Don't they realize you have like way more misspelled words than me?
I just don't get it.
Instead of turning my truck over to my dealer's monkeys for an afternoon (they insisted on 3-4 hours minimum in order to fix it), I had my mechanic buy one of the harnesses and he put it on for free, cost me $12 and 5 minutes. A week later I got the postcard saying that the newest harness won't be available till Feb. F^ck them, I'm only getting it fixed once.
All those little 5 and 10 dollar bills I've been handing to the service manager for his "concerned" service have finally paid off. I brought the truck in for an oil change, and took my usual walk across the street to read the paper and have breakfast at a greasy spoon. When I got back, he said they'd decided to replace the cruise switch for me. I've been bitchin' about it being disconnected now for a year. He winked, and said he "detected" a slight leak in the switch area, so Ford authorized a replacement right away.
I would suggest to anyone in a hurry to spread a tiny amount of fluid around the switch area before going into the dealership. Evidently Ford tells them to replace it ASAP to avoid the chance of a fire.

That's wierd, I took mine in back in September, they took it, put it in, and was done in 30 minutes. The morons.. I hadnt even walked all the way around the lot yet when they paged me over the intercom. I was thinking about taking one of the F350's for a test drive while I waited.
The cruise control still works!
So either they didn't do anything to it and just had me sign that it was done, or they replaced it.

Closing out the thread....
Dealership has all the parts to do the repair.
Taking it in on Thursday.
From November until now she didn't burn.
Just got to get through another 48 hours.
