Not like anyone cares, but...

just in case someone wonders where I've been, I fully upgraded my cable, including premium channels and comcast DVR. My life is so much more enjoyable. I usually spend hours on end on the computer, because nothing else interesting is going on at 4:00 a.m. The new DVR combined with Ms. Inbred saying I spend too much time on the damn computer means I haven't been hanging out much.

Buckdropper, Rosie, don't worry, I'll still be checking in from time to time.

Anybody considering the comcast DVR, get the darn thing, you'll love it.

How much did that set you back? Do you pay for the DVR by the show or per month? Can you "backup" what ever you record onto the DVR? Which cable box did Comcast give you? I have the DTC6210 which accepts a hard drive, but none of the USB or Firewire ports are active. I think I could pop for the DVR cost if I could put some of it on DVD.

I looked at it but the last time I saw it, it paled in comparison to Tivo. Season ticket alone is worth the money of Tivo.

Huh... I've been using a home-built DVR but alas I don't use it that much, mainly since the usability features kinda suck, but it is cool to have TV on your PC. Anywho, it's like what $5/$10 extra a month? Can I get an HDTV/DVR combo for the same amount a month? I think me needs to call comcast.... I'm missing good shows on bowling night, then am shafted on Thurs/Fri for a few hours when there is NOTHING on.

It's $10/month for the combo HD/DVR box and service.

And that too...

I've got a motorolla dual tuner box (not sure of the model # offhand) Service is an extra $10/month. No hardware to buy. Harddrive size is 80gb I believe. It does have tons of ports, but they are deactivated for now. As far as archiving goes, only ways are via VHS or a component dvd burner.

If TiVo's season ticket feature is an option to record a series, than the comcast box does this just fine and dandy.
