Ahhhhh... I'm much happier since we sold our 90gal tub-o-fun.

I do miss these little buggers though:

Our reef tank:

We listed our tank on E-bay, then sold it after the auction - no one bit but the auction got some advertising and we sold it shortly thereafter. Be prepared to take a bath on it though (assuming you purchased all/most of it new).

I sold my 55 gallon saltwater setup last year on ebay.
210 watt lighting
automatic PH tester
wavemaker with four powerheads
Amiracle wetdry - modified
Amiracle protein skimmer - modified
ultraviolet sterilizer - not hooked up at the time
undergravel plenum
loads of live sand and live rock
every kind of test kit imagineable
tons of extra stuff

All that for the bargain price of $500

I hated giving it up but it was at my parents place (long after I moved out)and they didn't want to have it there anymore. My house doesn't have Central Air and I was afraid of the tank getting too hot in the summer...didn't want to buy a chiller.

So yes, you will take a bath on the sale.

Good luck though....Im sold mine this time last year to a guy who was buying it as a christmas present.

If you want to make a 30 into salt water and not have much maintenance, read Live Sand Secrets by Bob Goemans

I ran a 20 this way for about two years with no problems. It ran with perfect PH and ZERO nitrates, nitrites and ammonia.

Great looking tank!!!

Have you had any problems with the clown trigger?
Has it gone nuts and started killing stuff...biting wires, etc.?

My boyfriend and I have a 90 gallon, 45 gallon, 25 gallon and now a 10 just to keep our koi till summer. We used to have a 5 inch clown trigger...he pretty much killed everything! He was awesome but had to get rid of him because he was getting to big. Now we have an eel...which has killed the last 2 fish we put in the tank. Only a niger trigger right now...and he has been getting biten! We'll see how long the eel lasts!!

Thanks, the clown trigger has behaved *so far*, but he's only been in there for a month. There is also a "picasso" trigger that was being shy, but they aren't as nasty. I've had many triggers but never a clown trigger.
heres a snip from: http://www.marinedepotlive.com/clown...-triggers.html

"General Notes: The Balistoides conspicillum or Clown Triggerfish, despite it's many charachter flaws, is one of the most sought after triggerfish in the industry. A typically hardy fish once past the tiny juvenile stage, they tend to behave well for several months and then turn into a nasty nipping tankmate for no apparent reason overnight. Should be kept as the only trigger in the tank to avoid deaths due to aggression. Choose Aggressive and large tankmates and provide plenty of hiding places to keep them. Grows quickly when well fed."

so, we shall see what happens, but my tank is friggin agressive as they get i think. I'll video feeding time next time i get live feeders for the lion fish and triggers. I always think he's going to pick off a damsel, but they are crafty little buggers and he cant catch 'em.

Actually this little guy is always under attack, but he's one of the biggest hermit crabs i've ever seen, and tough too.

I had a HumaHuma Trigger but had to get rid of it after it realized that it could kill other fish. First blood was a few weeks after I bought two golden headed sleeper gobys. The trigger just didn't like how timid those two fish were. He swam up to one real fast and bit it's throat. The trigger seemed to be as surprised as the dead fish and all the other fish in the tank. Everthing in the tank hid quickly. Soon there after the trigger hunted down the other goby and shredded it....then he started going after everything.

^^^HAHAHHAHA, Thats funny chit right there. Sounds like me when first started to get into it, and didnt understand the food chain so well. I would be like: "wtf? where did my $60 fish go".......oooohhhh, there it is being eaten alive by my $10 fish

Since then it's been "survival of the fittest" in my tank.
