Has anyone just had a "bad luck" truck?

I have made numerous posts about my King Ranch 4x4 in the 04-06 forum. I have had vibe issues, the AC is pathetic, and several other issues. I have been patient with the quality issues and my imcompetent dealer. However, I have also had a whole other series of issues that can only be related to bad luck. Very strange stuff.

One day, I was parked with the window down along side a road, someone drove by and tossed a cigarette but out of their car window and it landed on my drivers seat and left a perfectly round burn hole in the Castano.

Another time, I was at the Starbuck's drivethru and the stupid chick at the window handed me my Venti Mocha, the sleeve broke and she tried to hold it by the lid, the whole thing went in to my lap and ultimately down in to my butt crack and all over the seat. The stain will not come out of the seat. No one will drive the truck now because it looks like someone gave birth in it.

After years and years of towing trailers, I have only one time jackknifed one a few years ago, it was unavoidable. With this truck I have jackknifed my car trailer not once but twice, once on each side of the truck where the trailer tool box removed huge chunks of paint from the bumper.

It has been backed in to not once but twice, once at Wal-Mart and once at Lowes, both times parked way out in the lot. Both on the front bumper, one destroyed my liscense plate frame and H-D tag.

I had a roll n lock installed that has never once worked right, even after several adjustments it keeps knocking the top tailgate plastic trim off.

I had XM installed the day after I bought it. A delphi SkyFi 2 which has been nothing but problems from the droopy and loose mounting kit to now it automatically tunes to some bluegrass station every time I push a button. I tried everything to reset it or fix it, I finally lost it yesterday and ripped it out of the cradle and destroyed it with my bare hands.

the taligate has fallen down a couple of times going down the road, I imagine due to the roll n lock not allowing it to latch properly. One time I discovered it when a bucket full of doorknobs I was carrying fell out on to a major thoroughfare and cling cling cling, door ***** everywhere.

I have had five flat tires on this truck, before I had only had maybe two in my whole life. Every tire on this truck has been patched, one of them twice.

I ran over a bicycle that was left in the middle of US 41 one night at like midnight, it got wedged up under one of the skidplates or something, I had to break out the cordless sawzall and cut the bike in to pieces to get it out.

I have accidentally bumped the power folding mirror button twice going down the road, the first time, I didn't even realize I had power folding mirrors and had to drive it all day with the mirrors folded in until I had time to read the manual.

All of this in 5 months and 9000 miles, for three weeks it was in the shop.

I had not one problem with my 2005 Lariat 2wd SuperCab in as many miles. Not one scratch or one trip back to the dealer for nothing. Some trucks are just cursed in more ways than one.

Sounds like that King Ranch was one of those Friday afternoon trucks. I once had an s-dime that gave me a whole bunch of problems, more than usual but nothing even close to your problems.

No, my trucks have been good luck (Except for one stupid @$$ repair I had to have to the windshield wiper cowl~ $450.00).

But, I have had atrocious luck with my 1994 Olds Cutlass Supreme SL Coupe.
She was a beauty, but she had to go to the doctor at least once or twice a quarter, sometimes monthly...

Too much for me.

THe other car that's prominent in the background was our other ride- the 1993 Honda Accord EX. Talk about rock-solid. The reliability of that car, and the inherent unreliability of my car, is what made me vow to never own another American made vehicle... Until the 1997 F-150 came out, and changed my mind... I joined the F-150 ranks in 1999 after a breif stint with a 197 Nissan Maxima Se 5-Sp. (Which I also loved).

Given the luck you've had with your vehicle I think I might be inclined to pull the F-150 logo off the side and make sure it doesn't say "Vega" underneath there!

I almost bought me one of those back in the day as well -- they really were sharp looking cars!

Well, like others have said, it could be WORSE! Your trucks brakes could give out and slam into the garage while parking it!

Bad Luck?? ya.. you could say that.....

at 1352 miles something let go in my engine. Dealer first thought it was a cam problem... they had my brand new truck for a month!!! Engine was replaced.

Then I took it back for a loose rear view mirror..... dealer went to remove it and broke my windshield!!!!!!!!

Blue Emblems on my wheels kept falling off

Wife was out driving it with 5000 miles and someone ran a red light and the front end got hit (nothing bad but needed a new bumper and few other things due to scratches and scuffs)

then the third brake light started to leak

Then I hit a deer at 50mph.....
(truck recieved its third bumper, another billet grill, new headlights)

if its not one thing its another.... still love my truck though!!!!!!!!!!

seacrow, I remember when you had a '99 and all you wanted was a different seat.
