Smeezy, it sounds to me as if the only choice you are going to have available to you is dial-up. I'm not sure why, if you live in a bigger city you should have Cable, DSL and dial-up all available but I don't know Utah so...Hmmm

I like Cable, never had DSL and have to live with dial-up because I live in the sticks and Satellite, while faster is also about 5 times more expensive. I'm still considering it but haven't made up my mind yet. Cable...you have to be in an area that a cable company serves. Do you have cable TV? if you do then there is probably somebody out there that offers Cable modems. DSL, it comes in over the phone lines like dial-up but it's much faster...downside, you have to live within about 2-3 miles of a transfer station, otherwise you might as well stick to dial-up. Look in your local phone book under Internet Service Providers and you should come up with something. Then start calling them and see who has the better deal.

 

You only really notice the difference pulling big files. Web surfing is sweet on both. The 1200' requirement really depends on the gauge of copper in your area.

After the pop everybody is sharing bandwidth. Sure beats living next to you on cable when your sucking gigabytes of data over our shared cable line.

we'll leave the secure bit cause its too geeky.

Besides you run Novell....I hear 3.12 is hot.

Seriously I love my cable wouldn't go to DSL unless I had to but it sure beats dialup.

He deleted his whole first post but basically he's got break fluid leaking somewhere and has had it to the dealer a few times and they haven't fixed it. He was asking about doing a lemon law. I thought that was a little exessive for the problem and he didn't like my comment.

I've noticed people in the other threads tend to be very sensitive. Cant joke around without these pansies getting their panties in a bunch (no offense smeezy). I almost quit going to the 04-06 threads cause I'm tired of reading about the AF1 and the Aux adapter.
