Pretty cool little freeware app that lets you keep track of maintenance and repairs for multiple cars or trucks.
Nothing you couldn't already do in Excel, but it's layed out nicely and designed for vehicle maintenance.

Nah, I have no issues with it. You get what you pay for.

In all honesty, if this was something the poster had written, I may have issues with it. But I know that not everyone is willing to pay for Ownersite.com, so I am not going to remove threads that talk about spreadsheets, downloads, etc.

If someone posts about a web-based competitor, then I may jump in and talk about why Ownersite.com is far superior, of course. That's my perrogative.

To tell you the truth....I never looked at Ownersite.com until this thread poped up (even though Steve-O had us vote for it awhile back)....it actually looks to be slightly useful....that is if you don't want to take the time to make your own excel spreadsheet....

I used to be one of those spreadsheet (and manilla envelope) people and that's where the idea of Ownersite.com ultimately came from. It's not exactly a new idea. Comparing it to Excel spreadsheets...if you take the time to build all of the maintenance and fuel logging functionality provided by Ownersite.com into a spreadsheet, I can guarantee you will spend much more than $14.95 of your time. (and, if your computer crashes and you don't have a backup, you have to start over)

In all honesty, if someone just want to keep a simple log of their maintenance, a spreadsheet is probably more than enough and Ownersite.com would be overkill. When I built the business plan back in 2000, I specifically noted it was not for every vehicle owner...which is exactly the reason that my conversations with venture capitalists are so brief.

Unless you get your team of geeks in the accounting dept. to build one for you! They love that excel crap!

While talkin' about OS.com... any word on when the smartphone/blackberry version?

Well....it seems as if you found a niche in the market....I will agree...to build a spreadsheet that does all that would not be too difficult a process...but it would consume well more than $14.95 of my time....might have to give it a shot....all I would have to do is find the time to add all my data.....

Keeping track of this kinda stuff is just to much effort for me, OS.com, Spreadsheet, or otherwise. I just drive and drive and drive until I feel compelled to change a fluid or anything else useful.

Well, if you are already using a spreadsheet for fuel records, you can save the data in csv format and import them into Ownersite.com.
