What Web Browser do you use?
I just installed the Firefox 1.5 Beta 1 (got brave). This thing is fast. I think maybe faster than Opera. Tried that yesterday after everyone mentioned it, but didn't particularly like the functionality and interface. Too many years with Netscape/Mozilla/Firefox. At this point I see no reason to go back to the 1.07 version of Firefox.

Yeah....I installed 1.5 yesterday as well....there definitely seems to be some significant performace increases.....but....my "weather" plug-in was not compatible....so I went back to 1.06.....I will just wait for the v2 to come out....supposed to be a huge in provement....we'll see....but I am still giving Opera a chance today....
[QUOTE=wild-mtn-rose]I use IE...I know, my bad, but I'm just not technically intellegent enough to learn a whole other system and IE works for what I do.[/QUOTE
you would be surprised how user friendly macs are they are much easier to operate and alot more stable than windows

I would agree with this statement for all versions of Windows prior to XP....
The problem with the "stability" issue is that M$ has an EXTREME market share....thus has many "ignorant" computer users....and like any other complex piece of equipment....when you tinker...it will break....
thus, with all the Windows users out there tinkering.....I would say that a good 80% have no CLUE what they are doing...which leads to disaster....and when disaster strikes....people complain.....
So it is more or less a game of numbers....since there is drasitcally more Windows users then Mac users....there are vastly more complaints about Windows than Macs...
No...since I consider myself fairly competent when it comes to computers....I must say that I can "crash" a Mac just as easily as I can creat a "blue screen of death" in Windows and make a Unix kernel "panic"....
Also, the argument that some Mac/Linux users tend to make that their respective OS is "more secure" is just plain false....again...it is a numbers game....any "hacker" that writes code to cause infection on a computer does so to create the MOST DAMAGE POSSIBLE....so, in order to do such a thing...they will attack an OS that is the most popular.....and once again...Windows fits this bill....Macs and Linux boxes are suject to just as much security breaches as Windows is...but it is just not worth the time to attack these boxes at this time because the user base is so low....
Anyway, that is my rant....I tend to go for awhile when the "OS" arguement comes about....they all get the job done just as well as the other....unfortunately, it is ALWAYS the USER that focks things up.....

XP was a huge....HUGE improvement over win98 (hell even over win2000pro)....but what I am really looking forward to is the full release of Vista.....it is definitely a version that is going to play off of some of OS X's goodies....
Also, seeing as how Apple is going to start providing x86 Intels in their boxes....I will not doubt if there would be a possiblilty of Windows eventually being ported to Mac hardware....at least the software end of things will be able to be ported easier...thus possibly makeing Apple sell more computers....
Got to give that nut case Jobs a hand for some of his business decisions....

I think if Apple would open up their hardware and drop prices, they could really take a HUGE chunk of M$'s biznaz. But alas.. they claim having tight control over the hardware makes it stable... hogwash. My apple folks beeyatch just as much as others do about issues. My hope is that Jobs finally makes a choice: Will Apple be a hardware company or a software company to keep alive and grow in the future?! Something has got to give, more and more video crap is going Windows...

Don't do that...We have enough morons trying to use computers....last thing we need is for them to be playing with matches.....
