D - Have you clicked on the link on the link to Microsoft Windows Vista? And if you have...does it have issues loading the images?

The only problems I have found so far with Opera is no loading some images on some sites and it refuses to load my intranet page at all....just says it does not exist.

Opera has always had issues with M$ site. Hell, I can't even download patches and crap with ANY other browser except IE, same goes for office templates 'n stuff. M$ loves their own s**t and programs their software, website, intranet, messenger, e-mail, everything to work as closely together as possible screwing over the other guys.

Anywho, I can browse the Vista site but it doesn't look right and text links are jacked up. Go figure. Screw M$.

Well, I can't speak for that other dude, but this Mac user is quite happy.

And why not? . . .

I have Firefox too. Don't use it that often.

Safari has never been "unstable" but I have noticed that there are some things out there that it just does not load.

After reading D's suggestion, I'm going to play around with Opera for OS 10.4 and see how that works . . .

(I'm stuck sitting around the house waiting for a delivery today, so I've got time to download and play with it).

I am probally one of the few PC users that wanders into the MAC stores to fiddle with the systems (mainly to give the sales associates a hard time)....but for some reason, when I use Safari it always "shuts down" on me when surfing the web....it doesn't give any errors....it just closes completly.....but I have only used Safari on the machines in the store....when I go to my cousins I always use Firefox.....MACS are not that bad of a toy.....but they won't run the engineering software that I use (Virtual PC is CHIT) and I can navigate Photoshop fairly well with my workstation....so no need to "switch" at this point.....

Just installed it. Unknown error. Nice plug in!

I dig macs, but not going to pony up the dough to get one. Should I ever get intense into graphics or video I'd be all over it. But I'm not.

Back to browser news . . .

I downloaded Opera for Mac and so far, it's not impressing me.

It loads pix kind of funky, and it's a good deal slower than Safari and Firefox. I did some reading a few minutes ago and read that even though this is vers. 8.5 of the big "O", in the world-o-macs it's actually still beta . . . and I believe it.

Also, just thinking, especially after trying to read Gator's post about the Mountaineer SUV his daughter totaled, in Tiger (OS 10.4) any of the native apps built into the OS can take advantage of spell check and the dictionary. So, when entering text in a field in Safari, you can spell check right there . . . also, you can highlight any word anywhere and access the dictionary, or thesaurus, and BAMMO . . . instant definition.

That alone is reason enough for the multitude of illiterates that post on this site to buy a mac.

(Not an insult . . . just tough love).
