Talking Van Halen Fans.

Which Van Halen do you guys like the most? Sammy Hagar or David Lee Roth?

I like David Lee Roth's Van Halen the most . Sammy Hagar is a p*ssy.

I think Roth was more of a rocker and front man... but Sammy actually has musical talent.
It wasn't until 1984 that VH actually had a full rock album. Everything before that would have a couple of full-blown rock songs, a few toned down rock songs and then a bunch of crap covers.

In the Hagar era, the entire album was solid front to back with every song written and performed like it could be released for radio airplay.

Also, if you filter out the vocals on their own, Dave couldnt sing worth a crap. It only worked because of his attitude, the melody of the song and of course Eddie.

ANd I guess there is no point even mentioning Gary Cherone.

There's only one Van Halen. Van Hagar had no soul. They may have been a 'technically' better band; but, they were no fun to listen to. I liked Sammy better before he took over for DLR.

Not a big DLR fan and Sammy's solo work is > than Daves, but I enjoyed Van Halen's earlier albums more than the ones with Hagar.

Sammy all the way. Roth just danced around like a fairy to mask his lack of talent.

What is your problem? Roth is the best! Sammy is a pansy that sings only love songs. That's not rock 'n' roll.

Gary Cherone was the biggest fairy of all Van Halen frontmen. Or should I call him a rear man?

Great move, Eddie...

Dude. Gary was the biggest idiot of the three. Why was he the biggest idiot? Because he left a better band to go to that worn out tired *** pile of egos band formerly known as VanHalen.

Extreme was twice the band VanAging was, and they just never caught on with the mainstream gig. Nuno Bettencourt made Eddie VanHalen become Eddie VanWHO.

Gary could outsing the others, and still kick your *** for calling him a fairy. Get serious. Just because Gary wasn't the drunk, stupid ***, ignorant frontman that the other two are doesn't make him a fairy.

This whole thing is subjective. If you were born about the time that Van Halen was great, the 80's, then you can't possibly put the band in context of what was going on at the time. Also, if you haven't seen DLR on stage with Van Halen, you haven't seen a rock show worth comparing all others to.

I saw 'em with Dave in '81. Dave is nothing but a clown in spandex.

Like I said... Subjective. Besides, by the mid 80s, there was quite a bit of polish added to the show. Dave was still a clown; but, he was an entertaining clown. They were a fairly young band, as far as touring goes, in 1981.
