Isn't this kind of like hunting elephants with spitwads?

Get serious, cut back 10% and stop flooring it to the next light. If everybody cut their consumption by 15%, prices would drop because supply would increase.

Let's get sensible people.

How many people here are aware that only about 40% of our oil gets turned into gasoline for powering our automobiles? The other 60% is used for manufacturing, heating, making plastics, etc.
If we as a nation cut our gasoline consumption by 10% (which is a hell of a lot and not really feasable), it would still only cut our national oil consumption by 4%. Nope, prices will keep going up until something hits the fan and our economy starts to tailspin. THEN the oil pumpers will be tripping over themselves dropping prices trying to keep everybody buying oil. But affecting the price is out of the realm of possibility for the average Joe Consumer.

It's like trying to affect Wal-Mart's prices on Wrangler jeans by not buying Wrangler jeans. Wally World doesn't give a rat's nut hair if you buy a pair of jeans or not. They will buy and sell millions of pairs of jeans with or without you. And if you don't buy their jeans, then you will be the one standing on the corner in your skivvies and Wally World won't even notice.

Well has anyone heard any reports on how the Boycot went?

I'm sure the oil companies are shaking now that we showed them we can go with out for a day...

Who actually went with out?
I know I drove my truck and used about 3-5 gallons in it. Then used about 3 gallons to mow my yard. So I only used less than 10 gallons yesterday.
Did that help???
Since I don't buy gas on a daily bases that one day thing was easy for me. I wasnt scheduled to buy any that day anyway.

I forgot about it (not that I actually cared) and filled her up yesterday. It's kinda funny considering I fill up maybe once every 2 to 3 weeks. I wasn't the only one at the pump.

It must have worked because one station near me dropped down to $2.68 today. That's 20 cents cheaper than anyone else in town that I've seen.

For those who live nearby, it's at the Dodge store in Maitland on 17-92.
I bought $41 worth today.
