Don't buy gas Set. 10th
Just got an email. Through the web, people are trying to reach everybody and encourage them not to by gas Sept. 10th in protest. So if we could all do just this small part and not buy gas just for one day in protest, imagine the hit the oil companie would take in just 24 hours! Spread the word. The email said Sept 10th is declared, "Stick it to them day."

Enough of these threads already....So the gas stations don't sell as much gas on the 10th, but everyone fills up on the 9th to have enough to get to work and so on and drive as normal, and then fills up again on the 11th? This is supposed to affect something?!? This doesn't make sense to me........

All you nimrods need to get together and coordinate your 'No Gas' days or something. Regardless, the oil companies will still sell the same amount of gas at the end of the week. If you don't want to pay the price then don't buy gas. For long term, not just one day. |

Not buying gas on any particular day does absolutely nothing. It is a feel good measure that is just that, it makes some people feel good about doing something that has NO effect.
If you “really” want to do something that has an affect, even though small, take a day off from work and do not drive anywhere or if you normally go somewhere on the weekend that requires you to drive DON’T go and sit at home. Those are two things that actually do something with having an affect. Point being is if you normally use 15 gallons of gas in a week you have to reduce that down to something lower. If you do nothing but delay when you buy gas like this Sept. 10th feel good day you have accomplished nothing. No, boycotting particular gas stations, like Shell, or whoever has no effect either IF you still end up using the same amount of gas. It amuses me how some people really think skipping a day to buy gas or buying it somewhere else is going to do anything to either lower prices or teach someone a lesson. Only one way to do that which is to use less gas… |

Only one way to do that which is to use less gas… I have made a conscious effort to drive as least possible and when i do i use the 4 cylinder and leave the V-8 home for the time being at least.. Combine errands, car pool what ever it takes we really need to open our greedy eyes and conserve as best possible... JMO |
Not a problem I absolutely will not buy gas on teh 10th. In fact I'll go you one better won't buy gas on a Saturday ever again. Oh by the way I fill up on Fridays. :rolleyes:

I'll probabyl fill up at least twice on the 10th. I'm takign a road trip Detroit to VA and returning home on the 10th. 600 miles in one day. Also, 600 miles tomorrow. This trip will cost me a whole $50 more in fuel at $3.25/gal vs. $2.50/gal. Fro the amount total spent on the vacation, I'll not fret over the $50. Maybe skip one nice dinner.
