MaeslantBarrier close to Rotterdam, Europoort.
It's a storm surge barrier and protects us from flooding.
It was the final project of the deltaworks.
One arm is as high as the eiffeltower.
24% of my country is below sealevel.
I live 6 miles from the barrier.
You can see a small piece of the area I live in in the top right corner of the movie.

Maybe they will build platform stents and build an American version of Venice Italy.

What would be funny then.. Would be soon as it was finsihed the New Madrid fault in Missouri lets go again and knocks it all down!

Did you happen to go to the Mississippi today? Wondering if we got any back wash tide? Or water daming effect backing up our lady river.

The level has been rising slightly here in STL (approx. 2.5' in 3 days)....but I have a hard time believing that it rose this far up the country from Katrina....

I'd say it's the water coming in form the sea is daming, or maybe slowing the river. So the water from the river can not get out ot sea as fast as it is flowing down.
St Loui might be a lake by next week! Just hope it dont get Benedetto's Italian Ristorante! Hmm Thats some Lasagna now!

Well, the superdome "withstand 200mph" They interviewd the builders and they said that it was a lie basically because it had never been tested over 100mph winds!
