Question about Hurricanes

So I'm headed to Fort Lauderdale on Saturday. This stupid herricane is going to hit late today or early Friday. What will things be like come Saturday-Tuesday? Do things get cleaned up pretty fast? Is there going to be a lot of junk in the water making it unpleasant to hit the beach? We fly standbye so we could always change destinations so I'd like any input. Thanks.

I wish I had an answer for ya bud. The best thing to do for now is keep your eyes and ears peeled, watch the weather channel, and stay on top of it. As far as the "mess" it will leave behind, that pretty much depends.

It really depends on how bad they get hit. Most of teh time they get it cleaned up pretty quick.

Watch the news. This storm isn't going to be too bad, but keep in mind that some cities shut down after a storm. They don't allow anyone in, they have curfew's, and if there is no power then you're pretty much **** out of luck as far as getting a hotel or gas, etc..

Well, first of all they are called Hurricanes. Not all of them are female. Don't upset them by calling them the wrong thing or they may come to visit us again. After last year I don't want to see another one for as long as I live.

Secondly, it is still a tropical storm.

Finally, nobody knows where it will go. It is sitting off east coast lined up with West Palm Beach and the projected path is for it to go across the state, ramp up to a Category 1 and then head for the panhandle.

Check out this site for the best information http://www.wunderground.com/tropical/

Here are the models:

A lot depends on the severity, whether clas 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 (the worst). You can get thunderstorms with the same severity as a class 1, just not as long lasting and with real steady wind. My understanding as far as rebuilding they are still cleaning up from last years hurricanes .

This one isn't gonna be too bad. You might get rained on real hard and it might cause some travel delays. You're right that it might clutter up the water a bit. Otherwise you shouldn't run into any trouble. By Saturday night I would guess most of the rain and wind will be gone, from Fort Lauderdale anyway.

First off I love weather and stuff they are Hurricanes for one and for two I think this will hit as a cat 1 hurricane.. so it shouldn't be to bad! But I believe the beachs will be pretty gross... But depending on how bad it is when it hits will depend I know where I use to live is still cleaning up from Hurricane Ivan that hit a year ago so it all depends.. You'll just have to do what you want and hope for the best.. Good luck to you!

I would postpone the trip till next weekend if I could, just in case. This one does not look bad.

GO AWAY KATRINA!

Well, it's supposed to hit Lauderdale tonight at 8pm, so you should have more information tomorrow or early Saturday.

Gonna hit is gonna be in Broward county(sp) very heavy rain 4-5 inches of rain and more than that after it it's totally out of there! So I would say don't go! it's going to be a disaster..

I'm gona throw in my 2 cents now. Wait a little bit and come at a later date. Even if it is only a cat 1 there will be crap everywhere. Also, the last thing residents want is people coming to vacation and get in the way while they're trying to clean up.
