It's a truck. I would rather ride in comfort, and know I am in a reliable truck, then to have the "faster one". Always remember, there will be someone with a faster truck somewhere. Just keep in mind you have a better looking, more reliable, and better riding truck then the Dodge. Hemi is a good engine, but so is an inline 6.
Not to mention that straight 6 with a stick will pull almost as much as the Hemi.

When I was in the market for a new truck a year and a 1/2 back, I checked out Dodge. The whole time I was in the dealership, the sales guy kept pushing the Hemi. There wasn't anything else he could tell me about the truck. Every question I asked, somehow had "hemi" in the answer. It was amazing!

[QUOTE=cia-agent]Yeah, if they don't screw you one way, they'll get you another...

The interest rate on teh Crown Vic, when I looked at it, was gonna be 6.9%...

I got 0.0% on my 2003 Expy, and I'd gotten 0.9% on the 2000 I had...

You'll never really win...
------------------------------------

Interest rates have ticked up consistently for the last how many months?

The days of cheap gas and zero percent are gone for now Bro.
Sorry to say.

There's still some left in your 4.6 if you want to spend the money. You've also got to think that if they are selling new vehicles that cheap, yours is going to be cheap to them also. What year is your truck?

Its only 2 months old

Well they don't really fall flat on their face. If it is, you got problems. They perform pretty good. If that is all you are looking at, then go buy one. Lemme guess you are what 18-20? Be satisfied dude. Why did you buy a 4.6 if you were looking at performance that much?

I cant, and will not argue that statement.

~BUT~ (there is usually one of these in every thread)

If your looking for a reliable, comfortable, and a GOOD LOOKING truck, you find that in a Ford.

Actually I am 24, I just have been in other trucks that perform a lot better bone stock than our trucks modded. I mean it takes an xcal2 to get rid of the throttle lag, thats not being imature its being an upset consumer. Thats all I am saying I'm not trying to live my life one 1/4 mile at a time here but a little better performance from factory would have been nice.

dont get me wrong these truck are sharp looking inside and out but it just sucks that a 4.6 comes with 230 hp vs 260 on the 4.7 dodge, and hp aside like I said whats up with the programing on these trucks. They should perform as good as they look.

mmm...well again why didn't you buy a 5.4? These trucks aren't dogs. I had a 2000 4.6 that wasn't a dog. I regreted not buying the 5.4 the whole time I had it, but it wasn't a dog. I think we're beating a dead horse here. Hemi's and 5.3's aren't that fast either. 4.7's and 4.8's sure aren't. So what if one pulls 1 car length on you.

Lots of people here don't...and we won't be driving one for awhile. Lightnings are sweet and non molested ones are about to be very rare aren't they?

noname...ask 31C if he's ever been outran by anybody? I bet he has. Everybody gets outran by somebody.

edit...But he likes his Lightning, and that's what counts.

I test drove both 5.4 and 4.6 I went with my flareside 4.6 cause of looks and I trully could not feel a difference between a 5.4 and this one because of the bogged down launch these trucks have so I figured I could mod the 4.6 since it was smaller and probably get the response I wanted out of it.
