That's because it's an '84. The new Lariats are leather.

I say go with the leather. I didn't like it till I got it, now I'll never buy a vehicle without it

I like it. If I was buying a brand new vehicle Im not sure if Id spend the extra 600 on it though, I dont think the benifits are worth the 600 or so bucks.

But, its very easy to keep clean, feels nice, makes everyone jealous because you have leather, doesnt pick up at odor really, if you spill something you can pretty much wipe it right off with no stains, if your a smoker, or let smokers ride in your truck and they accidentally drop a smoke it wont burn a hole in the seat right away, etc. Only bad thing is you slide around a good bit when you get a lil crazy on the corners. Of course its funny to watch people sliding all the way across the seat when you haul *** around corners and they arent ready for it.

Ive never really hat a problem with it getting to hot or to cold. It never really seems cold to me, and only once when I had the truck sitting in the sun, middle of no where, 100 degrees, and middle of the day. I thought my a$$ was on fire when I got it. But after 2 minutes your fine.

My leather seats don't get hot. My '88 F150 had a vinyl bench seat and that seat got hot when I parked in the sun. It would melt the skin off the backs of your legs. But leather seats don't get hot.

You guys with the lariats are talking as if the ENTIRE seat is leather....which it is not....only the "inserts"....the rest is vinyl...I would link to the thread that talks about this in detail...but I am lazy and there is a search button...

I for one do not see the advantage to spending the extra $1000+ on partially leather seats....

If I were to do the F150 over again...I would definitely go King Ranch...Lariats are for (INSERT CHOICE DEROGATORY WORDS HERE).....

King Ranches are very nice and if I would have had an extra 2000 or so (seems that is what the mark up was on those trucks) I would have gotten one. The vinyl/leather seats are still easier to clean than cloth and make the truck look a little more luxurious. Definitely a nice addition to the white face gauge luxury look in the Lariat.

Try getting mud on your cloth seats and just taking a damp cloth and wiping them off.

I was in the same boat as you. I went with the Lariat and haven't regretted it one bit.

This is an old wives tale.

Leather is cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

I'm not talking about vinyl, or naugahyde.

I mean real leather.

Get the King Ranch, and you will know the truth.
