Finally a non bias statistic on something!
I use statistics all the time in marketing but I HATE THEM. It's still just an educated guess at best! This one I can get behind and belive.

Already dropped my health insurance a long time ago. I have to be practically dying to the point that I don't care anymore before someone takes me to the doctor. "They do call it practicing medicine. Not Perfected medicine for a reason." They can practice on everyone else and let me know when they get it right, then I'll come see them on my own free will. My great grandma turned 95 on July 4th this year and she has been to the doctor maybe once in the last 20 years... All her friends would go every week with aches, pains, sniffles or whatever plus thier regular checkups and such and now they are all dead! So apperently the "practicing" doctors are not as good as mother nature.

PLUS... Insurance for wife, 2 kids, and I that was costing us $50 a week in premium. We were only using $30 a month for wifes BC pills and we rarely met the $500 a piece annual deductable for office visits, or $1000 trauma. So we were spending $2400 per year to save $360. For a net savings of (-) $2040 per year. we dropped it and over the last 4 years we have put back the savings plus intrest we have about $10,000 set back incase someone gets sick or hurt (kids break an arm or something).

All insurance policies (ie: car, home, health, etc) they are all like a hospital gown.

You only think your covered!

I am scared of dying for the basic fact and human nature of the fear of the unknown. But my fundamental curiosity of the unknown counter acts that fear so it's kind of an exciting subject to think about!

Now where is my beer and where is the boobies!

I have no fear of dying.... just a fear of dying when my son is young... or a fear of my son dying while I'm still alive.

My cousin just passed away at the age of 36. Heart attack. His mother is devastated. It's been really hard all around. You're right. Outliving one of your children sucks. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. If I had a worst enemy.

If there is a meaning to life, or a reason we're all here, we don't have the capacity to understand it, even if we were privy to the information required to do so.
