Chevrolet Impala SS

I know this is not a "Ford" vehicle, but anyone out there have any experience, or know someone who has had experience with a "newer" (2004-2005) Impala SS. Am looking at purchasing a used 2004 with low miles. The only other car that the fiance likes is a 2005 Grand Prix GTP. Both are excellent cars, but I know little about the Impala.

Any advice out there.

"The 500, and focus are out of the question"

Thanks

I sure hope she's good in the rack, because her taste in cars is questionable!

when GM went to front drive, thier cars sucked...The Impalla is blah blah car, I do like the Gran Prix, Pontiac is more performance orintated, and If you need four doors, A grand Prix is the way to go, Ford has nothing in the sedan market that offers any excitement...The GrandPrix is the best FWD car I have driven, that dose not drive like a FWD car......

Don't get a Mustang, get a Corvette. You can get a used '00-'03 Corvette for $25,000 to $35,000. Get a Vette. It gives you more comfort, speed, power, better steering and faster acceleration than a Mustang. People will notice you in a Vette.

Thanks for the replies, and the humor. "CrAz3D", you are right, she, and myself are looking for a more "family" like car, and Ford does not have squat with 4 doors and some pep. GM seems to be the only company to offer that. Maybe a Nissan Maxima with the optional 3.5L, but I have not seen any used ones that I like in the area.

One thing that I don't understand, the Impala and Monte Carlo SS with come with a supercharged 240 horses 3.8L, and the Grand Prix GTP comes with a supercharged 260 hp 3.8L. The 3.8L V6 by GM has been around for ages, why a 20 hp difference in the Chevy vs Pontiac?

Anyway, I am going to go and drive the Impala tomorrow and see what I think, right now, if the $$ is right, it may be the car to get.

And trust me, If I didn't want a boat in the near future, there would be a reserved spot in the garage for the beloved Mustang!!

Thanks!!
