Angry Broke the trend..... bought a Dodge CTD

I had to do it....
Been researching for a year..... finally was ready, I knew what I wanted, I had just received my pin (thanks BTW), and headed to RT. 104 Ford in Oswego, NY for routine fluid changes in my F150.
While the truck was on the rack, I strolled through the sales lobby.
After two laps and passing 3 or 4 sales "***"ociates and a couple of sales managers that didn't notice their customer because they were all gawking at some nice hooters on one of their PCs.
I had to finally request help by inquiring as to whether or not there happened to be a new 4 door diesel on the lot.
Not a soul looked up..... all I heard was a half hearted "naw".
I gave up my search through that dealer, and figured I'd take my business down the road.

Back to the service lobby I went to wait on my truck.
While standing there, waiting to talk to some of the guys I've grown accustomed to throughout my 7 years of dedicated trade with the department, I overhear this snot-nosed arrogant little sales bastard (obviously new and looking for attention) in the parts department talking to Wolvie about this "dumbassed customer" looking for a 4 door Diesel.
His words... "it's a super-crew dumbass".
This nailed the coffin shut for Ford..... period.
I wasn't even going to another dealer after that.

I went to a local Dodge dealer and in two days picked up a loaded CTD 2500 Quad Cab (4 Door......*****).

I kept my F150, still love it, have it on the road, trading elsewhere.

Sorry to vent here guys..... this has been and is a great site.... Dodge boys can only wish they'd be so lucky as to have a site like this.

Thanks for reading.... please see my updated bed liner pics when I get the old post fixed.

I'd tell this story to the owner of the dealership. Not the sales manager or GM.
Sorry that some jacka$$ drove you to the other side. I hope you enjoy the CTD as much as you do the F150.

Also, is it a SuperCrew on a F-250 or larger? Mine doesn't say SuperCrew anywhere on it. I think it's just a crew cab. Or 4-door diesel. Dumbass punk sakes puke.

As a matter of fact, I just emailed the dealership the link to this post.
Wasn't sure if I should make a personal trip.... sour grapes and all.

Good luck with the new truck.
I hate sales people period. A friend of mine and I went down to the Nissan dealer just to look at the "Titan", well the salesmen says hes gonna go see if he has any 4x4 ones and goes inside. 10 minutes later hes never comes back, thats kool, i go over to the dealer next to it where my truck is parked and bring it right infront of the Nissan dealer and park it dead infront. Get out go up to look at the truck that is open on the little platform by the door. Mr. Salesman comes out and comes back over to us, never even mentions a 4x4 or nothing so my friend and i jsut start comparing everyhtign to the ford. This is cheap!!! i dont like this, thats ugly, got real cheap plastic, do they come with different lights???, and the kicker.....God dang This truck sucks mr sure glad i didnt buy one!!! should have seen the look on his face.
Really sucks how you can go and be nice and the Salespeople ***** on you.

Had a similar experience a few years back when we were looking for a car for my wife. She really liked a Dodge Stratus we looked at, but the salesman we worked with was such an a-hole we couldn't bring ourselves to enter into any transaction that would put a penny of commerce into this guy's pocket. I even thought of going to the sales manager and trying to do an "end-around" on the sales rep, but I just figured he end up getting credit for the sale anyway.

So we ended up buying a Pontiac Sunfire from another dealer -- a pile of crap, but that's another story!

I've finally come to the point where I expect to be disappointed by the sales rep, no matter what kind of car I am buying. So far, this premise has never let me down!

Well, I don't blame him. My father has been 'borrowing' my F150 off and on for the last 5 weeks. He's put about 4000 miles on it so he's had plenty of time to try it out. Today he bought a 2004 Silverado and to tell you the truth, it's a nice truck. It rides nice, it handles nice and it's a lot easier to get and out of than my truck. The Chevy still has reasonable size tires that don't cost $200 each, and they look proportional on the truck. The seating and layout may be dated, but it is comfortable and functional (more functional than the crappy center dash layout on my Lariat). I like the fact that I can comfortably get in the damn thing without needing running boards. I hate the fact that I can't reach anything in the bed or toolbox of my truck without climbing up into the bed. IMO Ford is going in the wrong direction in many ways. If I knew my current truck was going to be so damn tempermental, I might have bought another brand last year. If my old man's Chevy turns out to be a winner then I still may try something else rather than keep my 6th Ford pickup truck in a row.

good luck w/ your new truck.

salespeople suck..... i refused to buy a truck cause the salesman was patronizing.
kept asking me if i wanted to take it home & show it to my husband. No ********, the truck is for ME. You'd think he woulda got the hint that I was pretty damn independent, I showed up on my damn motorcycle. AHHH the idiot
good thing it wasn't a ford dealership, I love my 150

Dodge is headed in the right direction on their vehicles.

I think the dodge trucks are sweet, but I am a repeat ford buyer because of my salesman and service dept. If I want to drop my truck off and take another vehicle home its all good, and I do drive around 100 miles to get to my dealer.
