One more.

We had so much fun that day, we were taking some massive curves with some spirited driving at 120 mph+!

It was cool to be in one of 20 cars barreling down a secluded highway apexing the corners in single file less than a car length between some of them.

Engine is sitting next to it while I try to figure out what to do with it: only 68k miles, but needs to be freshened up. Just not going to get crazy....

Woof

I never was a Porsche fan. I always found them to be weak.

Compared to what? Detroit iron? I'll agree with you on that, but a Porsche will outrun any muscle car in the twisties.

Its hard to descibe, but driving a Porsche (and this 944 and a 951 are the only ones I've be able to drive yet) is a very fun experience. You have to make the car sing down the road, not just mash the gas pedal. I have nothing against muscle cars, I just see Porsche (and other "sports" cars) as a more complete package.

You would be suprised how well a mustang can handle. The 05's are tearing up the transam circuit

Okay, let me clarify - to me, "muscle cars" are from the 60's/early 70's ('64-'73ish). I have no doubts that an '05 Mustang would eat my '83 944 on the track - however, let's compare an '05 C4S against that '05 Mustang...

Basically, what I meant was - a Porsche will outhandle Detroit iron when the cars are from comparable time periods, that's all. Not that the Trans Am cars of the 60's weren't capable handlers, just that they would be outclassed by true "sports" cars of the era...the cars from Detroit, however, would kill them on a straightaway.
