how to boost signal for a cell phone from basement??

I have a cell phone through Verizon Wireless. My bed room is acually in the basement where I do most of my talking on the cell phone, but I can barly get a signal from down in the basement, I loose calls all the time, I cut out on the phone as I'm trying to talk ect....I took it in to try and get it fixed, but the guys told me they can't do anything to boost the signal. The signal is good when I'm outside of the house, but once I'm inside, or worse, in the basment, all hell breaks out.
Is there a way to get reception so I can at least talk on my cell phone from down here??

You can get a Bluetooth model phone and put the phone outside or set it in a stationary place that gets reception. The Bluetooth headset would allow you to walk around a bit. Other than that you need to get a repeater which is quite expensive.

You may want to try different models of phones. Some have better reception than others.

Why not just call forward it to a land line? Just a thought

I would suggest anywhere but next to your garage!
