So I took my wife and kids to Ocean City, MD for our obligatory trip there each summer. I paid $250 a night for a dump hole hotel. I spent over $1100 in 3 days. I got sand in the Lariat, sun burn on my back and moths in my wallet. What a horrible place. They should send the terrorists to the beach. 5 million teenagers and 20 somethings stuffed on a boardwalk 30 blocks long. I'm walking onto the beach carrying 2 umbrellas, 2 chairs, cooler, etc in a hillbilly t-shirt, camo Ford ball cap and shoes. I stuck out like a cat in the dog pound. What the heck do people get out of that place.

I took my son to the mountains (in May) for $100 total including the campsite. Ahhh people of like mind who joke around and then leave you alone with the woods.

Ok I'm done venting...off to try and catch up.

Been there done that. We tried that chit last summer, and yup, it'll be the last. From now on, we go camping on the river, or lake. SCREW the beach.

NAH..the beach is cool. You just gotta find one thats not packed with a bunch of idiot tourists. Not that your an idiot tourist...but you know what I mean

I live at the beach so I guess its different for me. I dont have to go on vacation to the beach. I like it, although ive only seen it once this summer since ive been so damn busy with other stuff and work. Hopefully I can get ther this weekend sometime.

 

I'm there! Hopefully I'll find more 20 somethings than teenagers but any woman who wants a piece of me is welcome.

I chased beach umbrellas across the beach when they got pulled up and blew away... and a 100 other minor catastrophes.

 

Funny beach story....
Took my girls to Va Beach when the youngest was about 6. I'm laying on the blanket when the little comes up to me and says
"Dad, I have to go to the bathroom."
She spends hours in the pool at home without ever getting out so, I look at her dumbfounded and say, "Why don't you just go in the water?"

She ponders this for a moment and says, "What if somebody sees it floating?"

I am like...................then ........

Everytime I have an "underwhelming" vacation experience like that I think the worst part is that for the next two weeks I sit there and think that the money that was spent on a flea-bag hotel could have paid for 1/25th of a new Mustang......!

 

Well thanks for making my experience even worse....you could just have handed me a short rope and a tall tree.

ever look into going to the outer banks? if you go south of kill devil hill you can find some nice quiet beaches.

we have gone down as late as october and the weather is still beautiful.

this year we are going down the last week of august which is earlier than ever before. i am hoping its still nice an peaceful then too.

 

I take one of those camping with me.

Screw the beach though, too many people packed into a wallet sucking sand filled strip.

 

$20 for an annual pass, surfing, hot girls, and pretty much just locals. I'll take NSB any day. I haven't been this week yet though.

 

yeah, we hate those idiot tourists.....thats why we have a huricane every couple of weeks......keeps most of them away
