Sabatage the purchase you just made and do everything except ask them to fire you.
I'm pretty sure that not only is this business practice unethical it is also illegal. Might be time to contact your local labor board.
This guy sounds like he doesnt respect anything or anyone, but the all mighty dollar. He probably doesnt even respect himself and will do anything to make the almighty buck. I will go out of my way, pay more for something, or sell my products for less. To aviod doing business with this type of people including being employed by them. Thier business is not worth the headache to have to watch and make sure that I am atleast breaking even. My philosophy is, If I can't communicate with them, then we cant be mutually beneficial partners, I refuse to have to do business with a pillow on my back side, so we shouldnt be doing business of any kind together.

That's why I told you yesterday to let it go...
A lot of these folks giving you advice are not managers and are incapable of looking at the big picture; they only look at how decisions effect them... Judging by your comments yesterday- I can see that you do possess the ability to see past your own windshield- seeign that you knew the potential ramifications of going in that office complaining...
Now, I'm not saying keep your face in the pillow while they're screwing you- just know that rules are there for a reason. If you break them all the time, then they may as well not be there. And, he's right- as bad as he may want to- if he did that for you- then the others would think you're his favorite- and would expect similiar treatment... He could find himself in trouble just from bending the rules... When I hooked my guys up, I told them not to open their mouths about any slack I may have cut them. (Day off, comp time, etc..) Every MGR has a favorite employee- it's gonna happen- but, you just can't show it... Ever.
That happened to me- I was set for a promotion- my boss loved my work. New boss came in- and she couldn't stand my @$$... Tried to pretend- but I knew better. So the promotion I was set to get got delayed and delayed. Why? Because now I had to prove to her why I deserved the promotion; never mind what I'd done for the 3 years prior to her arrival...
I did my job; but was looking elsewhere- so with that I'll leave you with this...
THE BEST TIME TO LOOK FOR A NEW JOB, IS WHEN YOU ALREADY HAVE ONE.
And, if you've got a family to feed- don't ever get so mad that you quit a job... Swallow your pride and do what it takes to take care of your family- because the truth is- 8 hours off is not worth losing a $XX, XXX.00 a year job over, unless you have a fall-back plan.
Try explaining (I quit) to your wife after the first 30-45 days pass with no new job...

Well that would be funny, we've only been married 1.5 months. BUT I can work on the farm for my Dad and really enjoy it and we won't starve, but it's money out of his and my bro's pocket. Don't need to do that. I've never done without a job...I will ALWAYS work...not a problem.
Just because I am 24 and do not have "manager" somewhere in my title, does not mean I have no clue how management works or how to manage people...I agree that rules are meant to be followed and are there so you can keep the bad eggs from ruining your dozen...but it is also obvious that 3valves boss does not trust him and possibly never will...based upon how 3valve is explaining his dilema, I would have to say that it is safe to assume that he is a very hard worker and is doing more than his share for his employer...in which case, "props" should be given...if a "good" manager cannot show gratitude to his employees...then he/she is not going to be in business very long...because we all know that it is the worker bees that get the hive to grow....
So, even though I do not have "manager" on my business card...my advice to you (whether you take it or leave it) is to look for another opportunity...it seems to me like you are not going to go far at your current job...you and me both know that a farmer would rather deal with a guy like you than a ***** like your employer...

But who are you calling your family. The one that you spend 10+ hours a day with or the one that you go home to spend 3-5 hours with then go to bed and sleep? Actions speak loader than words.
Screw the boss's or corporate big picture, it's your family's big picture that you have to look at and should be concerned about. It's not just the 8 hours thing it's the whole picture that has been drawn. I'll tell you this NO ONE in this world cares about YOU. They are all nice unless it is not benifical to them then they'll knock you down, kick you while you are down, and be more than happy to do it to you. It is apperent that your current relationship with your employer has reached this point. You will not survive. Get out ASAP.
Congratualations for having the stones to go in and see the big boss.
Even though it did not go as well as you planned, at least you now know for certain the boss is a ****, and now you know where you stand with the company (they practically want you to quit).
It's better to know now so you can move forward on your terms. Lingering on for another six months+ at a lousy job trying to make it better is the WORST.

I've got the ball rolling. Talked to a large farm equipment dealer who needs a service manager this morning. Some other production supervisor jobs are available at some of the factories here in town ranging from food production to auto parts. We do have lots of factories, just not my first choice. Trying to polish up my resume.

Thats the truth
If you would have told me 10 years ago that I was going to be doing graphic design or working in the marine industry either one. Especially that I would have ventured into networking & Support for a couople of years.I would have laughed at you. I grew up on a farm, farm was my way of life and at that time I had no clue about computers had barely used one. Much less try to network them or do graphic design.

Cool man, you sound just like me! I wasn't gonna go to college until I was 17, and I was going to farm up til I was 21. How old are you and how long did it take for you to figure out there was something else out there for you? I'm 25.
