Alrite girls need your opinion...

K just to get it out of the way me and this girl have been best friends for years and strictly friends no if's, and's, or But's about it. Thats all we will ever be and happy with it.

But anyways her b-day is coming up and few months ago I told her if she didn't buy a Maltese by her b-day that I would get her one. And I really was goin to get her one. Well Its here and I really don't have that kind of money to be spending (they can cost up to $1500 ) So I thought I would run this idea by you girls and see if you would think it was "sweet" and if you would apprictiate it.

I wrote this 3 page letter a little while ago talking about all the years we have been friends and everything in between so I figured I would give her that with a card and a single rose. But for the dog I thought I would go get a stuffed Maltese from the toy store and give it to her I know I know its not a real dog but its the thought that counts right? And then I figured id just take her out to eat and give this to her over supper and explain the toy dog to her.

So what do you girls think?....Would you like it if a guy did this for you?

That sounds like something I would do, assuming she wont take any kind of dog other than a maltese...

Lets see what the ladies have to say

Dude,

Ok, I know you said that you were just "friends" and that will be that way forever, BUT, I know that I don't buy my best friend expensive sh*t and write 3 page letters?? Man, it sounds like someone wants something more than "just friends". Just my opinion.....

Do a google search for "maltese rescues" and see if there is a group near you. I belong to a collie rescue, and we place a lot of dogs in good homes. It won't be free, as our groups sometimes have lots of vet bills to pay on the dogs we take in, and you should also figure on some sort of basic fee. Also, they won't adopt to someone who is going to give the dog away, but if you find a likely candidate, you could give her a b-card and once she has been apporved as an adopter, tell her your present is to cover the adoption costs.

Many great dogs come from rescues, and you may actually be saving a life.

Maltese have multiple health problems and are very very high maintanence dogs. They are often prone to various dietery problems so often limited to what they can eat. They tend to require much more attention than most dogs leaving them alone for 9 hours while at work can drive them crazy, litearlly. They can start to lose patches of thier hair eventually go bald if they dont get the attention they need. They are easily exciteable and are like chawawa's if they get to excited or upset they can lose thier eye sight. Just to name a few problems.
If they were people society would outcast them for thier defects.

I think all of that is sweet, but I don't get the 3 page letter. 98% of my friends are male and there's only one that I know of that would write me a 3 page letter about our "friendship" and that's because I KNOW he wants more.

But seriously, the stuffed animal and dinner would be awesome! But I'm not a chick who likes to be wined and dined and has to have all kinds of expensive stuff. Gimme a stuffed animal, a Budweiser and a steak and I'm your best friend!!!
