travis.... actually there are only 3 petroleum plants in the country that can change middle eastern oil because it is very high in sulfer.. 70% or better of our oil comes from south america. prices would be cheaper if we got more oil from the middle east but it cost alot of money to make a plant that is able to transform it

Shell raised 1.4 eurocent per litre yesterday, 2 eurocents the day before.
That makes 3.4 eurocents in 2 days.
A raise of $.155/US Gallon.

Note: That means, I am paying 3.08 dutch guilder a litre gas right now.
Before the introduction of the Euro I have always said that I would sell the truck if gas is over 3.00 guilders a litre.

But I won't.

Too bad we didn't 'liberate' and oil field or two in Iraq. Wait till the entire world hit an energy crunch, it's going to get UG-ly.

Definately a jump here afterall. The gas station by my house is up about $.12 On a brighter note, after I replaced my fuel filter last weekend, it appears I've gained 2-3MPG from what I've been getting for the past year or so.

An Exxon station where I get off the highway for work was $2.15 2 days ago. Yesterday it jumped up to $2.25. Today it is up to $2.29!

$2.09 to $2.39 overnight here...

Can anyone really put a finger on the reason behind the jump? I know terrorism and hurricanes have been mentioned (and are probably contributing) but, OPEC is talking about a boost in production and overall, oil futures fell a tad over the past two days as I recall reading this morning...

I can't believe how much gas prices have increased!!

What cant you do? Our politicians don't seem to think it's a problem. Oh, that's right. I almost forgot! It is because they don't buy their own gas, it gets expensed back onto the taxpayers.
