This same video has been debated over at this this forum....on about page 7 or 8, someone tracked down the guys who shot the video on a motorcycle forum...some guy who goes by "super chaos" ...he admits it is not an accurate speedo...just a hacked together parts for a 'wheelie bike'

 

I suspect the guy got caught lying and has worked up a cover story. If it was about the wheelie and not the speed then why swap out the speedometer and why lock the camera on it?

 

I ride sportbikes. I can tell you I've seen guys power-wheelie to 100-140mph easy...it's EASY for a good rider on today's litre bikes to wheelie up to break-neck speeds...In fact, today's more powerfull 1000cc bikes are FASTER than 1300cc Busas from even just a couple years ago.

 

this is possible. one of the best bike riders lives here in michigan he rides with 1096. if you ever go to a bike show he is probibly there. he had the world record for the longest endo, 749 ft. i read some where that to do thi that far you have to get moving at about 160 mph and pull the front brake as hard as you can till the wheel pops up and then controll it from there.bike

 

OK- maybe the math whizzes can settle this.... watch his Odo- he covers what I estimate as 1.5 miles. if he was doing this, at 100+, he should be about 3 miles down the road- not 1.5. ( The odo is the digital gauge- it's kinda hard to read during the middle of the run). You know... Rate = distance X time formula ? He starts off somewhere at 157 and ends at 158 (+-) 0 to 220 to 0? in a mile and a half?

so if he is going 120 he is going 2 miles in one minute. so something isnt right with the video he was probibly only going 120-150.

 

Ive had a guy blow past me doing a wheelie and he was at least doing 120, on a highway at night, whats more he did an endo without loosing too much speed, and kept it perfectly under control.

It scared the crap outa me, and I shook my head at him, but he did it none the less.

A few months ago the family and I were going down the Inerstate when 2 bikes came flying up beside me. I was running 85 mph +/- (My speedo is off about 3 miles) I estimate they were running 130 mph or so. After they got past me the one on the right poped a wheelie and rode it for about 1/4. While at the same time the one on the left pulled an endo and rode it about an few hundred feet then sat it down and went straight into a wheelie and rode along the other for another 1/4 mile or so past his. They were both accelerating during the wheellies and had to be doing well over 150 mph when they sat them down. Both of my girls were like... WHOA DAD DID YOU SEE THAT?! I said "Yes I did." They said "Can you do that?". I said "I don't think that I'm going to try it."
I've been called a crazy **** with a glorious lack of common sence before. But dang that's just insane. I might would try it on a straight stretch on an empty highway. But not on the interstate in broad day light. Those guys are nuts!

 

I hope people like this go to jail before they kill themselves or someone else. Think what that bike would do to your vehicle at that speed. Power wheelies are a lot of fun, and so is riding a bike with lots of torque. You can have more fun on the track though. There's no such thing as too much power, unless it falls into immature hands. A turbo Hayabusa is at the very top of my want list, even though I hate the front end styling. One magazine said it looked like a pregnant manatee, and I agree. I would never do anywhere near 200 mph on a public street though. You couldn't pay me to do it.

Most sport bike speedometers are fairly optomistic anyway.
