I love Doctors ....NOT

Well I have been having knee problems for about 2 years now. I tore my MCL and my knee was knock kneed just enough that it wouldn't allow it to heel so they cut both the lower bones in my leg in half and re-alligned my knee. Well it totally didn't work.

Fast forward 2 years.

Knee still kept slipping out of joint.

So we did the High Tibial Osteotomy again that was two weeks ago. This is my first day back to work and in a generally pissy mood plus my leg hurts like ...well you get the idea. So basically I have a broken leg with my fibia bolted together and the tibia left broken so it doesn't interfere with the fibia heeling. I just hit my tibia on my desk and reminded myself how much I hate doctors.

Thats all just rambling on and feeling sorry for my self. At least if I was in a cast or something it would be more protected but it is just sitting out there ready to remind myself again how much it can hurt.

I can relate to that. I had surgery on each knee in 1982-83 with problems ever since. Then starting in 1996, I developed extremely serious health problems, which have left me permanently disabled, seeing over 50 different doctors in 4 years. I still have to go to the doctors 1-2 a month. So many have told me such awful things that I could expect. Long story short....they don't know $$@*&!!!! I took control of things myself and did what my body and brain said was right and I'm still here.
As far as the knees though.....there are exercises to do but you have to religiously do them. I learned what to do and I do them 3 times a week. When I stop for a bit, the knees start slipping, cracking and hurting. Plus there are supplements to help the lubrication of joints and they work.
Hang in there, don't let doctors get you down, and take control of your own health.
