the base engine the ram is a 4.7...I ran against a ram quad cab with the 5.7 and I beat him...went up against a moded out durmax and lost big time...my 04 5.4 is stock with a 355 ltd slip, and I have yet to be beaten by any 04 with a 5.4, I have a reg cab, less lbs to move arround.
If you sustain speeds higher than the tire is rated the tire can bascially blow apart as it cannot handle the force being placed on it... that wonderful little thing called centripetal force or centrifugal force, I always get them confused.. .

They come apart.
They were only designed to handle so much force, after that you're rolling the dice. Choose wisely my friend, wrapping the truck around a tree or pole neither fun nor conducive to good health. This comes from a guy who has watched telephone poles go by like a picket fence and is lucky to be alive.
Well, that's good to know....
I say that because I SMOKED a 2004-2005 F-150 on the freeway this morning. I was cruising along the service road at 40 MPH, when he comes down the onramp (From the side road onto the service road). He was about even with me, but I could see he was moving faster...
About 300 - 500 feet ahead is the entrance to the freeway (Who designed theses roads anyway?). He must've been running straight pipes, because I heard his Ford open up as he tried to make his move, and get in front of me... Had I let him pass, the cars coming up on my right would have pinched me in, and possibly forced me to miss my exit from the service road onto the freeway.
Also being an Alpha-Male, I gassed mine up a bit, brining my flowmasters from just above Idle, into "FINISH HIM" mode. I don't know what he's running, but my 4.6 liters came to life and left him (And all that noise) chasing Arizona Beige tailgate. We both made the onramp- he never passed me.
So, if the new F-150's can smoke a Hemi; then I can REALLY smoke a Hemi...
I always fel the 4.6 was quicker than the 5.4- I haven't heard a Ford wail like his truck did since I rode in my cousin's SuperCrew (5.4). Cuz's truck has flows on it, with the FIPK, throttle spacers, and other goodies on it... (My truck still feels quicker with just a K&N filter & flows)
Thanks for the info... Guess I'll start picking on Hemis & Silverado's...
