Funny you should mention that.
Three films I've enjoyed this year are:

Sideways
Wedding Crashers
War of the Worlds.

That's always a smart choice (Cheaper). But, how many times have you watched a movie at home and said to yourself> "Damn, I wish I had seen that on the Movie Screen!"

Let me tell you- I thought Independence Day, Pitch Black, The Chronicles of Rid****, The Day after Tomorrow, Twister and The Perfect Storm were all good movies. I watched them in the Theater and that compelled me to buy the VHS and/or DVD. But, had I missed either of them in the theater- I'd have felt a little let-down had I not seen them on the big screen.

You may like it JW, you may not- it all depends on what you're looking for. I mean- the only acting you're gonna see is people scared-*****less, and I don't know about you guys, but havign to deal with a teenager that doesn't know when to shut-up, I can relate to Tom's struggle with his inner demons not to beat the living ***** out of his son... But, they'r right- there isn't a lot of acting... But, it is entertaining...

I think I'll check it out next weekend.

My sister got married today, and her and her new hubby are coming to our house Saturday. If I can talk those assclowns into going to the movies, then I'll check it out.

Now, WEDDING CRASHERS....... I have to see that movie.

That is a good point CIA....but....Jamz could use the following:

Jamz: Honey...I just rented this movie that I heard was real good from the boys at F150Online.com....want to come watch it with me?

Mrs. Jamz: Sure

.....2.5 hrs Later.....

Mrs. Jamz:
THAT WAS FOOKING AWESOME!!!! Too bad we had to watch it on this crappy TV here at home.....

Jamz: Your SOOOOO right sweetheart.......you know.....I have an idea!

Mrs Jamz (sarcastically): Thats a first....

Jamz: We could go to Best Buy and get a 60" plasma and a Bose surround sound and then go buy some new leather Lazy Boys.

Mrs Jamz: You know...that is a good idea...but how are we going to pay for that?

Jamz: Well, I could ***** you out to my buddy Bill (wstahlm80) from F150Online.com and we could recoup the cost that way....

Mrs. Jamz: I don't know Jamz....but I guess it would be a change for me since I have to put up with a guy that is 7 inches shy of the East Texas average...lets do it...

It was a good movie, and good special effects, I would have made some changes. While I liked how the creatures rode the lightning down to the vehicles, I liked the original more when the whole space ship crashed and it took them a while to come out of the crater (thus bulding the suspense). I also missed the little shadows of the people who got burnt by the ray.

I was also impressed with the military extras in it. The army troops were from the 10th Mountain (Ft Drum). The SFC that Tom Cruise was yelling at near the end of the movie was my buddies drill sgt at basic. He was going crazy when he recognized him, everyone started staring :o

PS - Im happpy to see Im not the only person who enjoyed Chronicles of Rid****/Pitch Black any word on a thrid one?

Done all three...just felt like it was another over-hyped hollywood movie that fell far short of my expectations...

I haven't seen it, but I feel the same way Bill, for the simple fact of the TOOL staring in the lead. I hate Tom Cruise....and since that "squirt video" I hate the lil panty waste even more now. Friggin cry baby sissy b!tch. He what...5'7" tall. He'd make a great munchkin.

I agree....any movie that has that TOOL in it has a LONG way to go before I can even consider wasting my time to see it...

You know- they closed the loop so tightly on "Chronicles" that I really don't know where they could go from there... Rid**** is in charge of a fleet of world conquerers... How do you improve upon that? Why would you downgrade from that? How many bounty-hunters will have the ballz to continue looking for him now?

I'd like to see a 3rd, but I don't know how good it would be considering Rid****'s last known position.
