Probably just looks tall because they're both towering over someone who is 5'3

here's another that gives you an idea of how low my truck is....2nd set of taillights back is a stock height HD....3rd set of taillights back is my truck. lol

 

Well I figured you were short leeann (no offense) but Im 6'2" and I don't tower over my L like that, so I had to know. But it all comes together now with that pic of the tail lights. lol

lol yeah i actually snapped my reciever hitch cover off backing up to the curb you can see how close it is in that pic....i had a chrome maltese cross in there, and it just hit the top of the curb pulling in. luckily i had another one in the bed, a chrome HD logo hitch cover, so threw that one in and got enouch clearance to back over a curb now

 

What about on the front? Have you scrapped that on anything? I got a kit to drop my L and I havent put it on yet, but if I would have Im sure that bumper of mine would be minus a few layers of paint.

ask leeann how the front of my truck sits compared to the back...she made sure to tell everybody at CJMF my rear is dropped lower than the front right now LoL!

right now i've got stan's 1000 lb coils in the front with no insulators, so a 2" - 2.5" drop up front...and hotchkis leafs in the rear with belltech shackles on the 1" setting for a total of a 4.5"-4.75" drop in the rear

i had the coils in for a while, then wanted to drop the back more (had JLP shackles with a 3" rear drop) and the hotchkis leafs only got me 3" at first so i put my belltech shackles in on the 1" setting for a 4" rear drop. truck sat nice and level with a 2"/4" drop

well since then the rear has setteled and dropped about 3/4", so instead of dead even the rear is slightly lower than the front. looks like i'm lauching or carrying a bunch of chit in my bed depending how i'm parked. lol

i just gotta put the stock shackles back in for a level stance again, but i'd rather drop the front more to match the rear.

up front i dont really scrape much, can clear curb stops, etc. but the lightning bumper cover hangs lower than the harley lower valance. this was the first time i've driven the truck since i did the rear drop back in march and had to back into a parking space with a curb, so didnt know i'd snap the hitch cover off. lol

what brand/size kit did you get?

I just got a 1/2 Ground Force kit from PSP. Ive got my eye on the Roush kit, but unlike a lot of you guys around here I dont think I can buy an upgrade, then decide I dont like it and upgrade it to something better. Unless I can find someone who wants to buy it for a reasonable price, Ill probably just stick with it for now.

Seeing that its an 00, the back is pretty low already (unlike the ungodly 03-04). And while I like the "slammed" look, I don't think I could deal with it on a daily driver. Plus when I eventually get some 20s there will be even less wheel gap.

yeah with just a 1/2 you should be fine. still gotta watch out for curbs anyway, but wont be anything where you need to look out for every pothole or bump in the road

i know leeann has a 1/2 drop as well, not sure if its Ground Force or FRPP, but there's pics of her truck at the meet in the J-LO-HO thread she linked above if you wanna check out more pics. I dont know if andy is dropped any that was at the meet, i'm thinking he just has 2" shackles
