I'm shocked to hear about that bro! It amazed me how you said you bucked up 15 seconds before it happened... it's proof that things that happen have meaning, whether you realize they do or not. Glad you all are fine, even the drunkie... he can't go far though, probably stumbled, fell and hit his head on something. That's horrible... I wouldn't have the nerve to literally walk away from an accident that was caused by me...I think it would knock me sober...lol

I hate drunk drivers.

There is something that we can do to try and help this problem and it is something that I have done before and will do it again in a heartbeat. When you see someone that is swerving on the road or even heavy aggressive driving and appear to be drunk, get their liscense plate number and if you have a cell phone call your state police and inform them and give them the tag number. They can run the plate and find out who it is registered too and hopefully be waiting on them at their house when they get home.

I did this a while back. I was coming down the interstate one night about 12 or so and there was an explorer that was weaving on the road very badly. infact he went into the median and had to correct himself back onto the road. At one point he was riding right in the middle of 2 lanes instead of just one lane like normal. I grabbed my cellphone and dialed *FHP which is our state police and gave them the tag number, what the problem was, our location and direction of travel. He turned off of an exit a few seconds later so I don't know if he was caught, but I sure hope he was.

If all of us could just do something like this in the future, we may save someones life by getting these dangerous people off the streets

Green, I'm glad that everyone came out relatively unhurt. As you said, it could have been much, much worse.

the drunk turned himself into police saturday morning, getting booked on carless and imprudent driving & leaving the scene of an accident charges--but get this...Monday morning he went to his insurance company and tried to file a claim against us for damaging his truck. As you guessed, they had already been contacted, and laughed at him. He had also had 2 previous DUI arrests, the last one being in 2001.

Still thanking God for letting my little sister live....i drive so cautiously now its scary...i feel like my dad

I wish you all a speedy recovery, both physically and emotionally, and am glad to here no one was seriously injured.

One question, how are the DUI laws in Mississippi, I only ask on the hope that they are tougher than some of the states around here. I know in Texas if they can prove habitual usage the state can bring up charges based on previous convictions; but only on DUI/DWI cases resulting from flight.

"7 people walked away"
Well, 6 might have walked but 1 ran. I really really glad they got him. I was in the same situation last Wed. when my girlfriend was hit right next to me and I was looking into her eyes as she got hit. The two guys drove off. The whole thing kept replaying and replaying I couldn't sleep either. We still haven't found them. You are very lucky that he gave up. I'm sure the weight was lifted off your shoulder's. I'm glad everyone's ok. Good luck.
