My journey to the dark side is complete: Behold Darth-Agent
Well, let's see. I picked up a 95' Honda Civic Hatchback for $3.5k put $750.00 into it for total of $4,250. Gas for Screw costs about $46 per tank and about $16-18 per tank for the Civic. I go about 300 miles between fill ups on both. That's a saving of about $30. Insurance (minimum liability) is $130.00 per year for the Civic. If I fill up every two weeks or 26 times a year then my saving on gas will be $780 minus the $130 for a total savings of
$650. If one takes into account the fact that maintenance (mile for mile) on a Civic is considerably less than my 01' Screw then it does make good fiscal sense to buy the Civic. If this Civic last 6.5 years then it will have paid for itself and my trusty Screw will still have relatively low miles so I can continue to use it for out of town trips, weekends, and hauling.
Not that I'm a Green freak but there is also this to consider as well.

Almost saved up enough for a bike now.
