Oilstorm
Oil-Storm huh? I guess I missed it.
I saw "The Day After" but, a real storm came through, and the power failed. I was in the 8th grade. I just purchased the DVD a few months ago- and now, 22 years later, I can finish it.
What was it about? What's a hurricane got to do with it?

I watched about 20-25 minutes. When I started punching holes through the storyline presented I got bored. The actors reminded me of the trailor park occupants you see on COPS.
Uh, last year Louisana was hit with a Cat 4 hurricane anybody remember Hurricane Ivan.

If you're anywhere off or along the Gulf Coast, that's a disaster waiting to happen.
Anyone remember that Cat 4 Cat 5 that was about to make landfall in LA in 2002/2003 and. as it approached the coast line, the water was "unseasonably cool" for some reason, and the storm weaken to a Cat 2 just before it made land fall...
They were worried about Avery Island, and Avery Island is well inland, comparatively speaking... In fact, any storm from the Gulf, even a straight shot, would have to cover 20 - 40 miles of land, and/or Marsh Island before Avery Island, and all the Tabasco sauce was lost...
The one I won't forget is Hurricane Elena that made it to within a few miles of Natchez, MS before it became a tropical storm...
Once it dipped to that level, there were no worries... I wasn't on the bridge, and we routinely have Thunderstorms with winds in excess of 60 MPH.. Where I come from, what we fear most about Hurricanes, is the Tornadoes they spin-off.
Anyone that grew up in Louisiana, Mississippi or Alabama, whether they were alive then or not, knows about Hurricane Camille...
They don't get much more powerful than camille- she was the strongest Cat 5 huricane to strike the US, and she came from out of nowhere.. A small, but intense Hurricane that left Damage more akin to a tornado, than a Hurricane. Nothing but slabs & pipes left where houses & buildings once stood...
Imagine if she had been as big as Ivan, Hugo, or Andrew was...
