Robby Gordon vs. Donica Patrick

This was my first IRL race I've watched in a long time. To me it's very boring compared to NASCAR.

If she had enough fuel she could have taken it. When she "assumed the lead"
she was fine 'til they had too switch to a lean run trying to conserve. If she
had enough fuel and was running wot she would have made it a lot harder
for 'em to take it from her..

And seeing whatsisface that won run out of gas on his way off the track after he won makes me wonder if maybe she could've been just that much more adventurous with her fuel mixture and maybe won it herself (or at least placed a little higher).
Eyescream--I was thinking the same thing: I think Bobby Rahal and his crew got too conservative on the last 5 laps...she was in the race, and should have left it on fuel mix setting 1 (all fuel) and taken her chances.
Back on the original topic, did anyone else catch the ESPN radio pre-race show? I was mowing grass while listening to the broadcast, and my wife could hear me laughing over the mower! One commentator remarked that Robby has filed a similar "complaint" several years ago when a Europeon racer weighed in at 140 lbs (Robby was then 185 lbs) and it was his opinion that "Robby Gordon should quit complaining about the weight advantage of other drivers, and start working on his weight disadvantage--put down the Twinkies and exercise!" He went on to mention Robby Gordon is currently weighing 205 lbs., giving a weight disadvantage of 40-100 pounds to the rest of the drivers!
Maybe his next sponsor should be Weight Watchers or Lean Cuisine...!

Im late to the party on this one but I like Danica. She seems to not care about whether she is female/male in a male dominated sport. Having said that, Robby Gordon ( who I think is beyond spoiled) is right about the unfair weight advantage. About 10 years ago NASCAR had to start weighing their cars at 3400#s w/driver since Jeff Gordon had a 100# advantage on some drivers. A car should be weighed w/driver just to level the playing field in that respect. A 100 # advantage in a car that weighs approx. 1600#'s is HUGE.
Gordon backpedals over his comments.
