Luckily Michigan dropper the front plate a while back, mostly for cost savings. I think the states that require 2 just think it allows better identification of vehical. Alot of times a front plate can be easier to read than a rear.
Write your state rep and suggest he start a bill to drop the front plate and save Ohio some $$, we all know Ohio needs the cash.
Just glad we dont need a front plate here, but on the plus side. I can tell all the Ohio tourist by that ugly front plate.

Sled...

I live in MD and we have the same law.

Got busted 3 times for not having it on. Just hated the look. I gave in to Big Brother and put the plate on. Never really asked why the need for a second plate but Im sure google could supply the answer

I agree quagmeyer. We are blessed with the front plate here in Texas also. Supposedly it so cops can get your plate number if they're going in opposite direction from you...stupid huh?

It's required around here as well. I think mostly because the Photo-redlight uses it. I've never gotten a redlight ticket cause I do not have a front plate. I haven't got a ticket yet for it either. The only time I've been pulled over was a road trip to the other side of the state and some state patrol guy was bored. I was under age at the time and had a bunch of beer in the back. He didnt notice.

We have that law in CA also. I've never had a plate on any of my cars. I'm 34, so I've been driving for quite some time.

The only ticket I've ever gotten for it was from a damned parking-lot meter maid at LAX recently. It was only $20 but it irritated me to no end...

I grew up in Texas and you better have one on there. When I lived there, I got a ticket for it and many warnings. I live in Mississippi now and they are not required. I personally do not like how they look on the front, thats why I never ran one.
