Computer question, smelling smoke, any ideas?

I keep smelling smoke for some reason. Anybody know where it may be coming from. Might have a wire connected wrong, I double checked them all though, might have missed one......or two......maybe more.

Well the best thing would be to TURN IT OFF if you havent done that already.

My first guess for smoke producing parts of a computer is the power supply. Can you see any smoke? Is the smell stronger in certain areas?

Yea it's caused by the shop light hanging on the rack touching atleast 50 or 60 of the wires...

lol pssh thats nothing compare to the network closets I all by myself had to re wire cause they were cluttered up like that. i did 5 took me a week... then i said hell with this... they dont pay me enough for them to sit around and " supervise" while im doing all the work and their talking to random people in the hallway. working for school district sux.... but that whole clutter can be fixed by just gettin new/shorter wires then just moving the items around in the rack... and also many many wire ties...

naw... To much work to clean up... Buy another switch and mount it in an empty hole! Eventually the company will let you move it all some where else and you can straighten it out then.
