77-80 Pontiac Firebird

I'm seriously considering getting a 77-80 Pontiac. Looks like there is a 77 and a 78 for sale in the area. I'd be interested in a 1980 as well as I am a fan of Smokey and the Bandit.

Here's one of them.

Just thought I'd share this on yet another slow board day. Man, I sure do have to scroll down a ways to hit submit.

Hey bud those years are pretty cool. The Bandit type years are tuff. The only thing I know is that the Firebirds w/ the gold metalic gage plates are special. Most have a silver metalic finish. I knew a guy you had one with the gold finish and remember his saying it was a formula type package.

Let us know what you end up with.

I have an 81 Trans -Am "last year of the second generation" (Smokey and the bandit style). Except it is white with blue phonix, decals, and interior. Has the true shaker hood. 4.6L (for now, but is blown up so going to put a 6.6L in it) Automatic (metric) Tranny.. Had it since I was 18 and have loved every minute behind the wheel.
I would suggest any Trans-Am edition of the Firebird... Trans-Am gets you the nicer body kit, 3/4" sway bars, RTS, and over all better style and performance. Trans-Am got more of the experimental performance parts before anyone else. They'd try them a few years on TA's then put them into other GM production cars/trucks.
You wont be disapointed!

If you get one and need help finding parts... Let me know, I've got tons of links and catalogs you can order.
