No, If I worked one day a week, the bank would be knocking on the door of my beautiful house. I work 6 days a week in total. You know, a real job. When I work here there is stuff to do, like read the forums and occationally get stuff done. At the hardware store, there is a lot of standing around waiting to help someone while you give a blank stare at all the people. Given the rough 2 1/2 weeks I've had, I dont want to do that again this weekend.

Cowboy......go fishin'. Hell, hit the lake and camp all weekend. Drink some beer, and catch a few fish. Clear your mind "daniel-son". You'll feel refreshed, relexed and alot better come Monday. Alone with mother nature is the best place to refresh your mind. It works for me, give it a shot.

I'll be fine. It'll be a dandy weekend. I don't fish though. I do have plans, see previous post. I've been going on 3-4 walks a day lately so I'm on board with mother nature.

So, I went for a quick walk to the grocery store to buy a soda. Darn the luck, it started raining. But that's not all so bad. There was a good looking college girl with a large rack jogging through the parking lot to reach her car. That was nice. Just thought I'd share.

Oh, and I got a couple vacations planned for this summer. One trip to Moab for 4x4 and another trip either to the beach (with girlfriend) or perhaps Vegas/Ft Lauderdale (no girlfriend). My friend works for Frontier so I get cheap flights..

What are you doing?

Your gonna , but I'll share.

Watch the grass grow in my back yard, then mow it. Maybe do some fishing. Play a round of golf. Visit my lawyer (custody issue). BBQ, look for a lab puppy.

Basically have a 9 day weekend.

My next vacation (in Spet) after we get our new 500, the wife and I are gonna go on a road trip. This road trip isnt just any road trip. More on that in the future. .

The voice from Hell

Boy, get your *** in that store Sunday and pull your weight.

I own a business that relies a great deal on part time help.
I may not be the best employer in the world, but I am far from the worst.

To be honest, this kind of thread really rips my butt.

If someone has a hangnail, emotional, physical (usually too much partying) or is just plain lazy, someone else has to take up the slack. If it is not the person's manager, it is me or my wife that have to jump in the shower, get dressed and go cover for someone that we thought we could depend on.

Sorry for the rant but this is a very sensitive issue for me, as I suspect it is for anyone who either owns their own business or has to depend on staff to get the job done.

And....I am not picking on you as an individual. I have read your recent postings, you got issues. Believe me when I tell you you ain't seen nothing yet. At my ripe old age I have faced much worse and I went to work every day and left it at the door as have many others here.

Sigh.....how many people have I pissed off with this post???
Bill

You haven't pissed me off but we have plenty of workers in our store. I work in the nuts and bolts isle, as in the only nuts and bolts isle. On Sunday, we have 4 employees working that isle. It gets boring. The store prides itself on high quality service and as a result our customer to employee ratio is quite high. Management wont have a clue and my co-workers won't miss me. I've worked there two and a half years and have only done this once before. For the most part, I am a quality employee. Anyway, I'm done here for the day so I'll see yall tomorrow.

Just be like "Look, something came up, I can't come in today. I hope this won't be a problem."

I do not think I am going to win any converts here so I think I had better bow out.

With respect:

Cowboy...get a pole and go fishing. I know you say you dont fish, but man is it fun. It can also relax you and really help clear your mind. Thats why I go all the time. I went last night and caught the biggest pickerel I ever caught. Here he is just after I let him go. It was kinda cool, he just hung out there like he knew I wanted to take his picture. TRUST ME, try it, you'll be hooked..(no pun intended)
