Another reason to live in GA,

besides the great Bass fishin' .

I just applied for my Renewal Driver's License---by MAIL . That's right, no waiting in line, no eye exam(the regular eye exam is very rudimintary any way), no 'snotty' examiners; just answer 4 or 5 questions and mail the application back with a check for $15 and you will receive your new license back within 30 days .

Oh, and I guess I should point out that for the first time in 130 years, the GA legislature is GOP led at the same time the Governor is a Republican.

Dan

I was so upset when they closed down the driver's license "stores" in Kroger. Needless to say, renewals by mail are going to be easy, but so was going to Kroger at 3:30pm on Tuesday, especially if you wanted a new picture.

I was surprised to see that AZ licenses are good until you turn 65. In Cali they need to be renewed every 4 years.

Mail? In Massachusetts, we can renew online. Until last year, they actually gave a $5 discount for using the web.

Just for your interest, a license in the UK is good from the day you pass your test to your 70th birthday.

I think the reason you have to renew so much is so your gubment can keep tabs on your whereabouts.

We can renew by mail here.
Just need to send them a photo.
I sent them a picture of President Bush.

This has been very helpful in getting checks cashed and getting out of traffic tickets.

Also I can get into almost anyplace now.
I do get some odd comments though like,
"You know, I didn't vote for you.'

I always say,
"I ddn't vote for me neither."

License renewal by mail seems kinda dangerous. Says it's from the DMV, anybody could steal it and take your license

I'm originally from Minnesota, you've been able to do that for years up there. I've still got my motorcycle registered there, I buy tabs over the internet as well.

Actually, the only things I can't pay for over the internet now are my trash and water bill.
