Yeah OK... Patients don't come in contact with the stuff. The treatment machines have moving platforms and a huge "C" shaped apparatus that directs the radiation beam. Inside the apparatus there are little blades that move around to block radiation beam from beyond the area to be treated, and the free movement of all these blades make the type of lubricant all the more critical.
Now, is that better...
