Dealing with problems
I saw a counsellor when I was going through a particularly rough time, one thing he said that stuck with me was acknowledging that you have a problem is half the solution. You said the medications are helping your situation the only advice I can give with this is keep taking them, no matter how you feel. I can't count how many times I've been called to help someone who's haveing psychological problems who felt they were fine so they stopped taking hteir meds. Typically they will tell us they are diagnosed with something and the next thing out of their mouth is I haven't taken my medication in about 2-3 days.
The other way I deal with things is to find something funny about it. This takes a little work and soemtimes a demented sense of humor, but it works. Me and the wife had some good one's when she recently had a brain tumor removed, but a positive outlook is invaluable to well-being.

Peacemaker,
I know you wanted this thread to die, but I seen in another thread where you said things aren't going to well right now. Did you make it to the doctor? I think that I understand some of what you might be going throu. If you need to vent about anything or just unload, pop me an e-mail. If e-mail seems to inpersonal and you need somebody to vent to then e-mail me and I'll send you my phone #. I have no room for judgement on anybody so there is nothing you can say that would make me think anything bad. I'm here for ya bro.

No problem...
Don't worry about talking to your doc. That is why he went into the medical field. He's heard it all before and probably worse than you can come up with, so he won't be shocked by anything you could say anyway. Just know that I'm here for ya if you need me.

One of my roommates was diagnosed with bi-polar disorder in high school. One day, he would be cool and talkative and in a good mood. Then the next day, some little thing may have set him off and he wouldn't talk to anybody, and if he did talk he was usually pretty um, moody, I guess you could say.
I dont really think you have bi-polar going by your descriptions. But obviously, I am not a professional doctor. Go to a real doctor and get their opinions. They know better than any of us do (unless one of us is a shrink!
)
Good luck.
edit: oops, NOTE TO SELF, READ ENTIRE THREAD BEFORE POSTING.

Ohh NO NO NO NO NO NO NOThat is the worst thing that you could do.
If your feeling down. "You seem to have a pretty good grasp and can recognize your own emtions and actions easily, so I think you know when it hits." At those time either play or listen to upbeat positive music with a positive lyrics ONLY.
Music has the power to change your mood but the other edge of that sword is that it can make it worse too.
LOL...
It is a way to express yourself, but if your alone who are you expressing too.
Thats is the secret right there is just simply letting it out to someone.
Positive songs are hard to come by but they are out there.

Peacemaker-You are not alone. There are so many people out there with the same or similar feelings as yours. Sometime you're doing OK and then all of a sudden things happen that are out of your control. Don't listen to the people that say "snap out of it". I'm sure you have heard that. You would if you could, right? By all means, talk about as much as you can and don't feel guilty about that!!! And by the way, I heard exercise is great for mental clarity. Even if it is only taking a walk. Hang in there!!! Things will look up for you soon. Be strong, be happy!!!
I don't think you are complaining at all. Don't think that you are. You are just going through crap that most people experience at one time or another in their your life. Stress can do alot to people. It hits everyone differently. Everyone has a totally different body make-up. Sometimes you don't even think you have alot of stress, but you do. And then it just hits. Sounds to me that alot of changes are happening right now for you. College, job and any other stuff that only you are aware of. Also, I wanted to suggest to you that maybe you need a different combination of meds.. There are so many out there right now that some work better for some people than others. And please, I cannot stress this more. DO NOT be ashamed. You are not alone. Please keep me posted. I'm on your side, OK?!!
