Dealing with problems
Most people don't deal well with changes. Especially when it comes to lifestyle, daily routines, other habits, etc.
Everyone tries to put on a strong face but everyone is scared, worried and gennerally upset at this stage in thier life. Your right god has great things planed for you... Now go get a few P.O.D. CD's and get your life to rockin.
Heres another good goup too. Apologetix They do parodies to ALL formats of music from country to classic rock to modern rock, hip hop, dance, rap, etc. All are changed to christian lyrics.. They are funny and uplifting at the same time. Get one of thier CD's, I have the "Keep the Change" cd (note that the pun is intended) and the "Biblical Grafiti" cd's.

Peace, good luck with your Dr's appointment and do keep us posted as much or as little as you feel you want to share. Never forget that we're all here pulling for you and hope things work out. And yes, after just graduating and having to face the "real world" it can be a very daunting and stressful time. But you're not alone, 99.9% of the population has had to face the same thing at one point in their lives. Hang in there and don't be ashamed to ask for help when you become overwhelmed, it can happen to anyone, anywhere.
Peacemaker,
I can speak pretty intelligently about Bipolar Disorder. I spent most of 2004 divorcing my bipolar ex-wife. There are two kinds, bipolar I and bipolar II, bipolar two is the more dangerous type since that is rapid cycling. My ex wife had II. She would be happy one minute and trying to kill herself and hour later. It was horrible to go through. I still hear from her many times a week. I try to help her but she is making a mistake that some people make.
She is denying that she really has a problem. She also, self medicates herself, doesn't eat right, and tries to do things that she really should wait for, like finding another husband.
She won't accept her problem, listen to the docs and change her lifestyle however she can to accomodate her condition.
It sounds like you may be bipolar I which is very treatable and doesn't upset your life like II can. However, you need to go to the doctor and go through the proper channels first. Sometimes emotional problems can be caused by thryoid diorders and other medical conditions. They should be ruled out first then on to the psychologist or psychiatrist.
Bipolar is a condition similar to diabetes in principal. Your brain doesn't produce enough mood balance chemicals to keep your mood stable in the same way a diabetic doesn't produce enough insulin to maintain blood sugar levels. Both conditions are treated with supplementary meds to help the body do it's job.
Just get to the doctor and do exactly as he tells you to do. Sometimes, diet and exercise go a long way in helping with these things.
I know I have nonstop anxiety attacks if I don't go to the gym, which is where I am headed to now,
Good luck

Peacemaker, if you are bipolar at all it's Bipolar I. I have read a lot about this. Do some research on the web. You clearly reference that you are overweight and need exercise. I would make that top priority. Also, some foods that you eat can make this worse.
I was talking to a guy at the gym yesterday that no longer takes his insulin shots and hasn't for two years. He said that exercise saved his life. I believe it. I feel sick if I don't exercise. I am fortunate that I don't have to work but if I don't walk at least a mile every other day, I get nervous and anxious. Exercise seems to stablize me and makes me happier weather I want to be or not. I love it. If I sit and worry, I start feeling like I am having a heart attack even though I am perfectly healthy. I have tried zanex to calm me down, but I only took it one time. I refuse to become a slave to a pill. Walking two miles and 15 minutes on the rowing machine works better than Xanex.
Read up on it, and try the diet/excercise thing. I think it gets overlooked far too often. It has done me a lot of good in the last year or so.
