If you have time can you look to see if a prop off of a Merc. Alpha or Bravo series drive will fit my Merc. 888?
Thanks

Alpha will..Bravo will not, Bravo has a different shaft size and then the newer Bravos have dual props. Let me know what size you need again. I may have one here I can give you a real good price on.

SInce I took over this position and hired a guy to do parts for me, weve been going thru and cleaning up a bit. Upstairs on the loft I found a bunch of brand new props that I may try an liquidate. I'll see if I have that one in stock and let you know tomorrow.

Sounds good!

If it's cheap enough, then it don't HAVE to be the exact same size.
A little more top end never hurt anyone, then again neither has breaking the seat backs during a launch..

I'm not picky, anything would be better than my current paper weight ... I mean prop.

where in missouri are you PSS??? i'm in southern iowa, about 4 miles from the border, and moving to branson this summer. actually heading down to table rock tomorrow as soon as done teaching.

anybody:

i have an 85 bayliner with a 305. on the bottom side of the one manifold, well actually one per side, but there is a plug/cover that goes up over a nipple and hose clamps on. this looks like a piece of heater hose but is closed on the end. the one leaks and i am wanting out on the lake bad!!!!!!!! this one little deal is all that is stopping me! i can't find one locally here in the middle of nowhere. anyone know of anything to ask for at an auto parts store that might work?? i'm desperate and down to heater hose with clamped up there with a big bolt clamped in the end possibly. would this work??? any ideas, suggestions appreciated- HELP!!

i was thinking about trying bass pro on the way through springfield but doubtful on that one too.

There are a couple Marina's in springfield, more in branson at table rock lake... The one I've ben using most at Lake of the Ozarks. (about an hour away north east if springfield) is G&G Marina. I think they also have a location in either Branson or Boliver too.

I am about 45 minutes East of Springfield on I-44. 30 minutes south of Lake of the Ozarks.

We go down to table rock on occasion.. I ussally go on down in to Arkansas closer to Eureka Springs. It's Still on table Rock Though. Table Rock is a nice calm little lake... "Ussally"

Bigger as in Diameter or Pitch?
Then how much bigger?...

From what I've been seeing on other Stern Drives. This one is a little small in comparison to the newer 4.3 V6 Mercs. with equal or comparable HP. to my V8... ?? Which those stats would be depresing if I wasn't getting such good GPH on my fuel anyway. (.62 GPH avg. of last 4 trips cruising at 3K RPM roughly about 30 knots)
Of coarse the tri hull is a lot more to push through the water than a V hull, so that could be why the prop is what it is.

Hey BREWDUDE,
Do you know a link that might show the schematic of the trim limiter and sending unit once inside the boat? If not, then would you mind if you have time could you draw me a quick diagram?

Here is what I have, Under the dash there is 2 wires on the trim gauge. One Purple and one black on a single 2 wire plug. On the pump there is 3 wires on 2 plugs, 2 Aqua wires on one femal bullet connector, one single purple wire on a seperate female bullet connector. But there is nothing left of the orginal wiring between the plug with the purple and black wire from the gauge to the stern. I ran 4 new wires "2 from the limiter and 2 from the sender" back in to the hull. I've tried every configuration I can think of. All I can get is the gauge reading full up with the lower unit full down and it dosen't matter where I try and turn the sender. Plus I still have to use trailer trim to trim up.

If it wasnt for this stupid limiter throughing a wrench in the logic for me I can understand the basic idea behind the gauge & sender.

BUT... I have read that when they fail there is a work around that must be done to make the trailer trim work. If this has been done how do I unwork around it to go back to using the limiter and gauge again?

BTW: This is the classic Mercruiser 3 button trim switch in the dash if that makes a difference.

Man I hate not knowing what it's suppose to look like and then tryng to figure out what someone might have done....

here's all the boat I need.

if I feel the need for speed, all I need to do is hook into a big 'bow and get towed around the lake....
