almost all of the auto manufacturors buy their pressure overflow switched from the same manufacturor that makes the ones that ford uses. but ford is not hurting from that because company who makes them i think their insurance coverage is about to run out... cause fords just tellin them hey u sold us a faulty product were not paying for ur mistake.

Yeah, that's Texas Instruments-

They said they warned Ford not to run too many volts/amps through the switch, but it seems Ford's are sending too much juice through the plug...

At least, that's what they said on TV.

its not TI who makes them.... i'll ask my dad who makes the ones that are being recalled its some other company. and for the recall all the do is replace it with a new switch that is made properly and new wire harness still uses same volts and such. and ford has use to same power for those switches for years but its only the 00-02 models that had problems due to manufacturing error

Searched Yahoo, by entering: "Ford" "Texas Instruments" "Fires" and came up with:

http://cbs11tv.com/investigations/lo...049191808.html

Documents obtained by CBS 11, produced by Ford in a lawsuit, showed a test on 48 cruise control switches on older model Ford's - brake fluid leaked through the Kapton diaphragm 6 times- and 4 of those were due to cracks. According to one deposition, Ford accused the maker of the switch, Dallas based Texas Instruments, of damaging the Kapton during the manufacturing process. Texas Instruments denies that.
Ti stated we "do not believe the switch contains a safety defect." TI has "offered assistance" in the NHTSA investigation.

Ford told us it cannot comment on the matter.

There are complaints of other model year Ford F150's spontaneously catching fire, no recall has been ordered by Ford or the government.

The space shuttle may have 20,000 or more parts. All produced by the lowest bidder…

They're here!!! Got mine fixed today. I ended up calling the dealer, I thought they'd notify me when the parts became available but when I called they had already gotten one shipment in and used them He told me to call back Friday (last week) because they were expecting more. I did and reserved one of the last 2 they had left, they're going like hotcakes!

Well, if it's 5,000 or 20,000- there'd still be-

5 things wrong with it at 99.9% and 50 things rong with it at 99%.

Bottom line is, no vehicle is perfect.
